Do you know what grinds my hammer? People who decide to run a bum rush an hour before it’s going to start. Bum rushes are great! You can either get some practice in with your teammates, or play competitively with friends who aren’t on your team. But the people deciding to run these rushes are so short-sighted. COME UP WITH THE IDEA A FEW DAYS EARLY! How hard is this? Prom didn’t just come up out of nowhere (I’m looking at you GB_With_Tmac – angry face), nor did the Super Bowl.
Of course, the Grifball community is not growing at rapid rates anymore, it’s still growing – but we can’t just sit back and wait. Get some cool bum rushes ready guys and gals, and you never know what could be advertised on the Bungie forums (even the front page of Bungie.net) and other areas that could give people interested with a small taste of grifball. In fact, this is a challenge, I want to see someone plan a bum rush so well that each team has two people not in the league – call it “Play with the pros Bumrush” or something. The details are irrelevant (part of the planning aspect I’m talking about). The point is – we either need new people running bum rushes, or those doing them now need to learn how to do the more-than-one-hour-in-advance rushes. That’s what grinds my hammer.

this “play with the pro’s” bumrush intrigues me. could be a way to bring in new blood. if it goes through, maybe a published news submission that gets on b.net’s blog could bring in said new blood? : )
That’s exactly what I was hoping for Cali. I’m almost positive Bungie’s willing to help people who run tournaments and such out, and if the rush is planned at least a few days in advance it could be published on there.

hmm things to grind over? cough cough** last minute reschedules that turn into a forfeit **cough cough….oh and one more cough cough**teams who sign up only to forfeit entire season** cough cough. actually i have an idea for a revised forfeit rule, but it probably wont go over well with the admin’s that be.

We at GBWelcom used to run a “New Player Night” – we tried a different tack with “Adopt a Newb” Bum Rush as well – the idea being that we’d post a BR the Thursday that XXP starts for the following week. That way a Legacy captain could pull 3 new folks in for practice 30 mins prior to the BR and have them practice – then they get to play in a tourney and meet lots of new folks…
I’ll talk to Mikinator and see if he’ll do one next week after XXP.
Germany i know we bump heads alot but it would be great if you and me and a couple other people get together and try to get a bum rush going. Also try to get it on bungie.net front page.Let me know if you think this is a good idea.
