This is just a small analysis of the two Miami Heat like teams gearing up for Pro League SML11.
<3 (formerly The Jetsons)
I’ve heard and read some things, and to my knowledge this is the <3 from Halo 3 just without TnT and Crowing. Knowing that, teams better watch the hell out. I honestly thought this team (as the Jetsons) was pretty weak except for T Rich and Silva at times, and if they would’ve had to play Cabs are Here on Neutral Host in the final four, they would’ve lost. (As The Jetsons), they were a good solid team but because of the lack of elite teams, they walked to the Finals.
HOWEVER, yes it’s deserving of all caps, you add Thumee into the mix and this team can be dangerous as hell At times, T Rich would be able to plow through teams by himself and he even did it in the championship game except some idiot dropped the bomb mid push, but nonetheless he has shown the ability to solo through teams. I had the chance to play against Thumee in a tournament, and yes some skill without a doubt carried over from Halo 3. You put a tank who has the ability to solo teams and one that can be equally as good at times (not sure if Thumee can solo teams) on the same team, and it’s going to get ugly.
I would also assume that Doc will take over running, and it’s been proven countless times that skill does carry over, so he should be the final piece to make this team “unbeatable”, but I guarantee that’s not happening. Since I haven’t gotten the chance to play with or against Doc in customs, I honestly can’t say much more about him except that I expect him to be decent, so it will be interesting to see how things play out.
Now, let’s sort the team and see what we’re looking at..
Lebron James: T Rich Da King
Dwayne Wade: The Silvaa
Chris Bosh: Love Thumee (he only gets Bosh because he took off the two Reach seasons)
Haslem/Miller/Anthony/Chalmers: Doc Status
What’s interesting about this team is that they actually have had a “Big 3” for two seasons now, HalfBreed, GreenThumb, and Fanciest Pants. A tanking core that would get any runner excited, and any decent runner would get this core excited. The Big 3 needed a high level pg and they went and out and nabbed one
They were already a good team, and they even made some decent pickups to better themselves. I’ve got nothing against Nhaling’s running ability and his ban was unfortunate, but Blue Collar Kid is a much better runner for this team. Blue collar can take more risks because he has a better stiff arm to get out of a jam and is a somewhat aggressive runner, but not extremely aggressive. Nhaling would either take risks and more often than not, die, or he’d be way too patient and get in a jam he couldn’t get out of. I feel if Nhaling had found a balance somewhere he would’ve been more effective for this team.
Another pickup, ShadowS16, is a great all around player. A good solid tank who can play some very clutch defense. However, I seriously think this is just a waste of a pick up, because all this team needed to do was add Blue Collar Kid and they would be good to go. In no way am I saying Shadow can’t help them, I’m just saying it would’ve benefited the Pro League if he had kept Grunts going this season.
A couple of pickups intended to be backups I would assume, are TnT and YoungNastyMan. The same that applied with Doc applies here in that, I haven’t really played any customs with either of these two players so I honestly don’t know what to expect. I was told that TnT is decent enough to hold his own so I’ll go with that and assume he will be a solid backup. I guess YoungNastyMan can fill the role of Ilgauskas by not playing at all? I really just have no clue what he’s supposed to do for this team so I’ll leave it at that.
On to sorting the team.
LeBron James: Halfbreed105
Dwayne Wade: Yo DrGreenthumb
Chris Bosh: Fanciest Pants (I wouldn’t say completely Chris Bosh, in between Wade and Bosh but closer to Bosh)
Haslem/Miller/Anthony/Chalmers: Blue Collar Kid
* The only players I included in the comparisons are the ones I expect to be the starting four.
