*Warning – This may offend ignorant people.*

Monday night was the Fall League season opener, with quite a few good matchups. WaMC vs They Hated It, ending in such a close game, with the tie breaking score going to They Hated It. But then we go into another matchup from last night – Cant Understand Neanderthal Tone against BRB Steak. Well, BRB lost, 8 to 1. Did they accept the loss? Hell no! Why would they? They had ample reason to make a bitch fest, and they did. Which brings me to my first point. Streaming games. Should Scet have streamed the game? Probably not. It’s a bit discourteous, but otherwise not really a big deal, because he runs 2 connections. BRB is complaining that it messed up the game. Doubt it.

My second point, Neutral Host, has been a hot topic for seasons now. Scet and CUNT refused to play the game on neutral host, which ended up on N1nj0’s host. Now I know it’s not a good host, but it’s not anything to complain about. I watched the stream. At minimum, CUNT scored 5 goals that they would have scored, NH or not. Now the reason BRB is complaining? It was “unfair”. That’s the name of the game kids! Your mama must not have said this enough to you as a kid, so here ya go – Life isn’t fair. You got beat, and now you are complaining. That’s all this is. If BRB had won, despite the “bad host” and the streaming, this would be a whole different situation! They would be saying that they are the best, despite the actions of CUNT, but they didn’t. So now, they complain about it, and use personal insults. Classy act!

So in the end, I have only a few thoughts. Please be courteous. If one team wants neutral host, just do it. Its not that big a deal. Don’t stream unless both teams agree. That one just falls under the don’t be a douche rule. Come on guys. Life goes on, despite a loss.

The moral of this story: Play the game and don’t bitch.

“Play the game and don’t bitch” should be rule #2, right under “Don’t be a douche”.

You really don’t take time to think about things. Now I know a lot of people don’t have enough brain power to process these kinds of things, even if explained well, so maybe it’s not your fault. But you can’t say that the 5 scores would have happened regardless.

Had the game been on Neutral host, Ninj0 probably wouldn’t even have played since he sucks dick off host, so the events leading up to the game, and the game itself, would have been completely different. Yeah, MAYBE if they got into those exact situations on Neutral Host, CUNT still would have scored, but it is IMPOSSIBLE to get into those exact situations had the game been on NH. So that is a COMPLETELY invalid argument, again, not sure if you can comprehend that or not.

Oh, and way to make an article out of the obvious. HELL YEAH if a team wins a game because of host they are going to take the win as a win. They aren’t going to say, “Yeah we should have lost.” That doesn’t happen, regardless of what they are thinking, they aren’t going to come out and say it. Nobody is going to admit that they SHOULD have lost after they won unless there was completely unplayable connection issues.

And here you are being a hypocrite. You want teams to play neutral host, and you almost seem as though you are angry when a team doesn’t do it, but at the same time, you don’t want people to bitch about teams not doing neutral host? Where’s the logic behind that. It’s like telling someone that it’s not nice to punch you in the face, but if they do punch you in the face, you just take it and don’t do anything about it.

So you say play the game and don’t bitch, that’s the most hypocritical statement I’ve seen considering you just made a whole article full of bitching.

I couldn’t disagree more. Scet did something that the other team asked him not to, CUNT wouldn’t play on neutral host, despite having a famously unfair host on the roster, and BRB Steak had every right to bring up their grievance on the forum.

Something you’ll learn about the more competitive end of Grifball is that every game matters, and every time one team has the opportunity to make the playing field more level and they DON’T, they’re GOING to get called out over it. It’s part of the game we play, like it or not.

While I totally agree with this statement, the fact is right now there’s no rule stating teams must play neutral host during the regular season. Sure it’s good sportsmanship to do so, but until it’s required, there are going to be teams who will refuse regardless of the negativity spewed at them by their peers.

You’re absolutely right, teams do have the right currently to choose not to be good sports and take advantage of a known advantage for their team. However, this being said, said team also needs to recognize the social implications this has. Other teams will call that team out, the community as a whole will look down upon them for doing what seems like an unfair move. Scetshin has already been quoted as saying his team exclusively refused to play neutral host for fear of losing to our team. Combine that with the forced streaming of a game my team outright said no to, and we have a severe breach of our beloved rule number 1 for our community.

However, I have faith in our disputes system. I know the game will be replayed, regardless of what some unknown writer with little to no knowledge of the game seems to think. The weakness in his attack is so blatant that it doesn’t even warrant addressing. And to the community who have supported BRBSteak throughout this little endeavor I thank you. Justice will be had in the playoffs regardless.

This may be my first season on a team but it seems to me that if the two teams playing can’t agree on Neutral Host or if someone is going to stream the game then the game should be held for a day and a question posed to the commish and allow him to make the final decision. Then the game could be played following the guidelines set by the commish for that game and bitching would be pointless.

Yes I understand that this idea would make more work for the commish, but he wanted the job and making decisions that effect teams is part of that job. Beseide it would be better to settle these issues pre-game rather than post-game where you are going to have a lot more whining, bitching, and trashtalking to try and cut through.
