Green Team Tex: Is there a difference between Admin Menz and Grifball Menz?

Menz: Not really. I’m usually pretty serious any time I’m playing or dealing with Grifball. I still find time to make some witty cracks though.

Green Team Tex: More so than other Admins, you will “talk-back” when people talk trash to you. Why?

Menz: I’d say it’s because the other admins are less competitive. I’ve always played sports, and I’ve almost always been better than average at them. Oftentimes, my teammates were damn good too. And as such, teams I’ve been on have been very successful (4th in State Babe Ruth baseball, 10th in the 4x800m relay at Nationals, several top 3 finishes at State Cross Country). I’m used to competing at a high level, and not losing, and I really get into it. And when I’m “into it”, I’m prone to run my mouth occasionally.

Green Team Tex: How did you become an Admin?

Menz: It all started when TTL Quikthnkr said he was looking for a commentator. I applied, and ultimately won the position. Along with running Someday Night Grifball, I also helped him with disputes, wrote Grifball.com News Posts for him, kept my eye open for people acting shady, etc. Once Jack took over the job as commish, he added me to his “secret council”, where I did basically the same things. Moocow and PxR kept me around when they took over, and once Moocow became the official commissioner, he finally made me an official admin, even though I’d had a hand in running the league for 3 seasons at that point.

Green Team Tex: As the only publicly known member of the dispute council, you must get a lot of hate mail. Could you share any exceptionally good ones with us?

Menz: Depressingly, I actually don’t get all that much hate mail. The best one I’ve gotten this season was from someone whose team had just been disqualified for playing a suspended player. He said that his team was so good that I was forfeiting them because they were just too good, and that if I didn’t reinstate him, he’d consider his team the SL09 Champs.

I didn’t reinstate him.

Most people are really reasonable, as long as you yourself are being civil. Twizzter not included.

Green Team Tex: Compared to last year, has the amount of disputes gone up or down?

Menz: It’s about the same number so far, but as the playoffs get closer and closer to being finished, people tend to look for some other reason that their team lost, other than the fact that they just straight up got outplayed. So I’m expecting a few more Disputes before it’s all said and done.

Green Team Tex: Do you think neutral host is good or bad for key games?

Menz: I think it can be a GREAT thing, as long as the teams agree on the right host. Just because it’s a “neutral” host, it doesn’t mean that one team doesn’t connect significantly better than the other.

Green Team Tex: On a daily basis how many people do you ban from a thread on the forums? How many do you want to ban?

Menz: 0. I’m not a moderator on Rooster Teeth (though the rumor is I’m next in line if the Grifball forum needs another one), so for now I simply notify Moocow or LBCountry if I see something that should be censored.

There are a couple people I wouldn’t mind silencing forever though. Those HLC assholes just post too much.

Green Team Tex: What player do you look up to the most?

Menz: There really isn’t anyone that I look up to anymore, but 18 months ago there was someone. The first player that ever amazed me was PhoenixRage. I played with him just a couple days after the Original 8 Tournament, and simply couldn’t touch him. I kept thinking I was sneaking up behind him, just to have him turn and destroy me every time. I watched all his game film from the WL08 season, and really applied his tactics in my tanking. He taught me how to dance, how to radar tank, and through lots of practice, I gained my almost unmatched knowledge of the hammer range from him.

Green Team Tex: Who do you think is the most over-rated, and why?

Menz: Green Team Tex. That guy sucks balls.

Seriously though, I’d have to say Scet Shin. He’s a nice guy, and he’s definitely not a bad grifball player, but I’ve personally never had much trouble killing him, even on his host.

Green Team Tex: What kind of team would you prefer to play on: An amazing team of douchebags, or a mediocre team with class?

Menz: Well, I’m on the most mediocre team with (well…some) class. We’re all douchebags at heart though, we’re just bad at covering it up.

Green Team Tex: There are reports (See HLC Team Thread) that you are going to join the Green Army for $100, Green Team Tex’s ex, and Tex naming his firstborn after you. Is this true?

Menz: Is that all I asked for? I didn’t even ask for a pic of the girl first? God I’m a whore.

Menz: Nodody fucks with the Citi.
