tHuMeEe played the Spring season with LINT in division 1 of the Pro league. LINT finished their season tied with Bleep Bloop with a 7-3 record and third in the division. The prior season tHuMeEe played with the Legacy champs, Gaming So Hard.
1. How long have you been involved with the sport of Grifball?
Back in the day, me and this kid Doc were like “Dood I downloaded this sick gametype called grifball dood!” So we played, and thought it was boring so we stopped. Then after the first grifball double experience weekend, we played non stop. I was a natural phenomenon, and so the legacy of Thumee was born. =]
2. What kind of player are you?
Hybrid. I pride myself in the contributions, not the stats. I love playing defense and coming up huge, scoring a sick goal, or leading in a tank. Zeg says I’m a tank, but I enjoy running the ball, but if I feel that I will help my team more by tanking, I will definitely give it up in a heartbeat.
3. If you could change one thing about Grifball or its community, what would that be?
I would hope people don’t take things seriously anymore. This is the interwebs, and let’s be honest, it is not serious business. Drama could tone it down a bit. And we would make myself commissioner. But who knows? ;)
4. Is there a player/team that has inspired your style of play?
Uhhh when Zeg used to be able to hammer-bounce, he inspired me to do that. I was a natural tank, and I couldn’t run very well, so I practiced with Twizzter a lot and saw what to do. Defense was easy, seeing as its a mental game. =O
5. Name one player who always gives you fits when you play against them. What makes them so difficult?
Zeg. He has hosts and it makes me cry very much. =[
6. Name one player you think is underrated by most. Why?
Oi! Uhh there aren’t a lot of underrated players anymore if you look at the pro league. Looking at the amateur league, T RICH DA KING is pretty good, but so are other players, Stormwarning being one. I haven’t played with that many.
7. Name one player you think is overrated by most. Why?
All of SI. I can’t wait until they lose host one day. It will be joyous. TnT Bioshocker is a solid all-around player, and he’s probably their best overall player. Citi probably has the second most overall skill on the team, but he never moves forward. Then spud head, but he seems to go negative a lot lately. Zeg’s pretty good as well, but no one has seen him off host in an intense game since last season’s championship, and we all know how that went.
Also, if I had to pick one player in the league, it’d be RedBaron. The kid goes HUGE in stats, but his team rarely wins. He never really pushes forward as a tank, he mostly seems to be roaming the map looking for kills. I’d like to see him improve his overall game, rather than focusing on just tanking. His defense could also use some work.
8. Besides Grifball, what other games/sports do you play?
Games- Call of Duty, NCAA Football. Mirror’s Edge <3. Some others. Sports- Soccer, basketball
9. In your opinion, do stats matter in Grifball?
No. It’s what you do for the team, not how positive you go.
10. If you could offer words of advice to rookie players, what would they be?
Don’t run your mouth. You’re not good, and you won’t be good until you compete with the top teams, sorry.
