Mikinater played for the Ball Grabbers this past season in the 2009 Winter rookie league. He has also successfully run several bum rush tournaments and is vying for the role of “Head of Events” for the upcoming Spring league. It’s hard to imagine him not being selected for the role.

1. How long have you been involved with the sport of Grifball?
I’ve been around since the opening day of Winter League 08, when I just roamed around and played mostly pick up games. I played my first official Grifball league game in the Spring League for Camp Newbii.

2. What kind of player are you?
My first season I started as a tank, but after our runner stopped showing up to games, I moved my position to hybrid to help out with the missing position. I have been a hybrid ever since, even though my tanking is much better than my ball running, I still believe I have some ability to run the bomb.

3. If you could change one thing about Grifball or its community, what would that be?
I seriously wish I could make people more grateful for the effort some people put in, but seeing as that will never happen, I just would like to see more positive community involvement in Grifball

4. Is there a player/team that has inspired your style of play?
I love the way SI approaches the game. Conservative, yet aggressive at the same time. They know how to use their skills and host at key moments, and throughout the game.

5. Name one player who always gives you fits when you play against them. What makes them so difficult?
REDBARON225. He connects extremely well to host all the time, and he is an overall great player. He can time his hammer swing extremely well, which irritates the hell out of me.

6. Name one player you think is underrated by most. Why?
Toktyn is definitely one of the most underrated players. His skilled tanking creates tons of room for his bomb runner to move. He can shape the field to his advantage by obliterating the opposition. Watch out for his hammer.

7. Name one player you think is overrated by most. Why?
Leggo My Zeggo. Without his outrageous host, he is pretty garbo tbqhimo <3 (From Mikinater & SI)

8. Besides Grifball, what other games/sports do you play?
I play hockey and baseball. My grifball team is much better than my hockey and baseball team sadly.

9. In your opinion, do stats matter in Grifball?
Not at all. As long as you make the right decisions at the right time, your stats are useless.

10. If you could offer words of advice to rookie players, what would they be?
Be friendly, play smart, and play for fun. These will get you anywhere in the league.
