It took a while – including an epic four-game series between Smiley Central and Go For It – but in the end, Priest XYZ’s team Way to Fail rose above the rest and came out as tonight’s champions. Congrats to Preist XYZ, AmazingBrosure, RedBaron225 and Digital Pain!
We hope everyone had fun and had a chance to practice some with their teams before the start of the GGL this week. The GRUNTs are going to be on a bit of a hiatus during the regular season, but there will be plenty of Grifball for you to enjoy–from the GGL and custom game scrimmages, to a possible return of the Grifball playlist.
Thanks for playing!
It’s time to get your teams warmed up for the next season of the GGL, which begins this week.
The bracket is also available in the Kickoff GRUNT thread. Teams will play each other in the single-elimination tournament until only one squad remains: Our Kickoff GRUNT champions!
Teams should consist of all Spartans. If both captains agree, however, you may use an equal number of Elites.
If you’ve only played Grifball in Reach matchmaking, there are some things you will need to know about the Dash variant. First, both Evade and Sprint armor abilities can be selected. Second, the sword is stronger against tanks and the runner alike. Finally, the runner can be killed with one sword swipe – no more Super Grif.
Please note: This tournament has no bearing on your GGL team, your record, or your season. It’s simply a fun pre-season warm-up.
Let us know if you have any questions. See you on the court!
