In case you weren’t aware or were just too lazy to tune in for the podcast last night featuring Moocow, we have it available for you here as the shortened cliff notes version (thanks to Goose) and the archived audio, which is taken directly from the TalkShoe webcast.
Instead of getting straight down to business, Grifball Reporter Green Team Tex started the interview the same way he runs with the bomb, pussyfooting.
Tex: What is your stance on neutral host and the negative feedback you’ve received from being captain of Team India and Commissioner simultaneously?
Cow: There is not a conflict of interest in being captain and commish at the same time. I don’t really care about neutral host and people can say what they want.
Tex: Have you watched the TI vs HLC game from the HLC view?
Cow: Yes. I don’t think it’s dispute-worthy, but that’s just how it works.
Tex: Will you be playing neutral host against Str8 Griffin?
Cow: It’s up to my team about whether or not to use neutral host. I defer to them.
Tex: Will Grifcave be used as official map next season?
Cow: Grifcave should be official around fall league, allowing enough time for players to adjust and pay for maps and look for flaws.
Tex: When Grifcave is official, can teams play on their home foundry map?
Cow: That decision is up to community and admin discussion.
The Big News
Tex: So what’s the Big News:
Cow: I’m stepping down as commissioner.
Tex: When does this go into effect?
Cow: It’s effective as of next season. I will finish spring league.
Tex: Will you retain admin status?
Cow: I will have nothing to do with running Grifball.
Tex: Who’s the new commish?
Cow: There will no longer be a Grifball commish. Admins will run the league.
Tex: With vacant commish position, what’s the process of the events? News posts, ect.
Cow: News posting on RT will be done by Adam. Admins will decide who is in charge of running elections, news posts on the site, committee spots, ect.
Tex: Any secret projects you can share with us?
Cow: They’re still secret, but I will continue working on them.
Tex: Is there a reason why you’re stepping down?
Cow: Personal reasons. Grifball was taking over my life. I love running the community, but don’t have the time to do all things that are important to me, and family, friends and school come first.
Tex: Will you still captain Team (insert random country?)
Cow: Probably not during summer league, but I will continue to play.
Tex: How has Rooster Teeth reacted? Any feedback?
Cow: They trust my decisions.
Community Q & A
Will Rookie/Legacy leagues be brought back? Jessica Simpson or Alba?
Cow: Alba. I prefer the pro/amateur league set up, but I’m not making decisions for summer league. It’s up to the admins.
How do you think this season went?
Cow: Fine. Scheduling’s tough though. Ran pretty smooth.
What about 2/3 of the power being members of SI?
Cow: If SI abuses the power, let me know and I’ll talk to Burnie and it will be resolved.
Will the community get a voice in admin positions?
Cow: That’s up to the admins.

Why the long face?
I wish there was a commish. Even though many have their disputes about MooCow, the position of commishioner still needs to be there IMO. I loved having MooCow to go to if there was a dispute with an admin…now who do we go to if an admin is being unfair…another admin? Fail.
checks and balances, otaku. checks and balances. lets hope that if/when one is being a “douche” the other two can team up and slap some sense into him. if it happens again, maybe a new admin is needed (question mark?)
[...] regularly, you’ll probably remember that Moocow asked us to do a podcast with him so he could make an important, official announcement. The announcement at the time was his “retirement” as commissioner of the U.S. grifball [...]
