Hello Grifball community, I’m Priest XYZ. I love the game of Grifball and the community that helps it to be what it is. Since I’m a part of the Amateur League, I thought it was about time that the Amateur League get to know some of it’s members. You may have seen his name before, being confused as ever trying to pronounce his gamertag, so I hope you enjoy getting to know myjspec.(my-jay-speck)

1.) What influenced you to join the Grifball community, and even make a team?

I joined the community because Grifball is something other than your typical matchmaking slayer game types. If you want to play effectively you have to work as a team 100% of the time, rather than getting backpacked almost 90% of the time, at least at my skill level.

I made a team to have the chance to put together players that work well together, but I wanted to do it on my own. I had been on a team that wasn’t very well organized, so I started a team with a couple of teammates that were dedicated, and it’s worked out so far.

2.) Which do you prefer: Grifball pickup games, League play, or Grifball matchmaking?

League games by far, because the teams play more professionally, and the players conduct themselves in a better manner most of the time. In customs the players are sometimes very unsportsmanlike, as well as matchmaking, and it’s not as fun when you’re being trash talked or tea bagged constantly.

3.) What other Halo related things do you play other than Grifball?

Playing customs games like bumper cars, or creative infection game types. Created custom games are a lot of fun because most of the time it’s things that my friends or other people have made, and it makes for a refreshing change of pace. It’s all about having fun at that point.

I don’t really play matchmaking game types other than Grifball, because I just get destroyed by the ridiculous amount of 50’s that I play against, when I’m only a 30.

4.) Are there any video games you enjoy playing that aren’t Halo related?

I have a very wide variety of games that I play. I like role playing games like Fable, and I’m looking forward to playing Dragon Age: Origins. I like first person games like Mirror’s Edge, and almost any game that just gives me a new experience. Also, I enjoy playing the Resident Evil series.

5. ) Do you keep up with any sports? Do you have a favorite team?

I really like the Green Bay Packers, because I grew up with them. I’m not a sports fanatic, but in the past I have tried to follow what I can. At this point I haven’t really kept up with them as much as I used to. Other than that I’m not really into sports.

6.) What do you do for a living? Any perks?

I’m a mechanic. I work on unusual cars, modified cars, that kind of thing. Working as a mechanic for race teams is another thing as well. Since I’m extremely vehicle savvy, I drive a Nissan Skyline GTR and I built it myself, put in everything. The engine, transmission, interior, and paint are only some of the things that were done. I set it up as a good daily driver, and a car built to last. I guess you could say that is a perk.

7.) Is there anything interesting about you, not already stated, you feel the community would want to know?

Sorry to the community, but there isn’t really much of anything to say. There isn’t a whole lot more to me. I guess if I had to say something I’d say that I do what I can to enjoy life, and with that, I try to make other people’s lives enjoyable in the process.
