Are you new to the Grifball leagues? Ready to get on the court and kick some Grif-tail? Ready to slam some Reds and stab some Blues?
Before the season starts, you should check out some of our educational material. We have resources to teach you how to do most everything on and off the Grifball court that will make you a better player (and team captain!)
Every team needs to know the basics: The lingo, the moves, the gametypes. If you want an introduction to organized Grifball, check out this Grifball 101 video. Pass it around to your teammates, too. Knowledge is never a bad thing!
Before you hit the court, you need to find out what controller setup works for you. Luckily, we have you covered. Community member Flymonkeys has detailed analysis of all of Reach’s controller setups to help you choose the best combination for the court.
If you want to learn to be a better captain, and find out how to take care of your Grifball crew, check out these guides by Rallyfox: Do You Have the Grifballs to be a Team Captain? Part 1 and Part 2.
Once you hit the court, you’re going to want to have a good time. In Grifball Dash, one move that’s isn’t obvious (but is very effective if used tactically) is the Barrel Roll. This move allows you to evade as you are picking up the bomb. To learn how to do this move, check out this helpful tutorial video.
Finally, once your team has had some success (or even some fun!), you’re going to want to build and maintain a solid reputation. Fortunately, Grifball’s community manager Goosechecka has some great recommendations for you. We highly recommend all players – new and old – read her article How to Improve Your Grifball Reputation.
For even more Grifball tips and tricks, check out our resource center. You should also join fellow Grifball fans on our forum! Chat things up with the old pros or arrange some scimmages for your squad.
As always, let us know if you have any questions. We’re here to help!
Good luck this season. We hope to see you on the court!
