Ball Till We Fall is one of four teams in the Amateur league to end the season with a 10 – 0 record, and based on tie breakers, they were awarded the #1 seed.

Tell me a little bit about Ball Till We Fall.
Str8 Metal – I was on DXP and ran into TJ and asked him if he knew about the Grifball league. He hadn’t heard of it, but was definitely interested. So we started a team and I decided to pull in Str8 Eclipse. We asked another guy named Cody to be on the team, but he left before playoffs. We had to scout for playoffs and ran into x parrot bay x in DXP and he is now our starter. We were pretty much founded through DXP.

Str8 Eclipse – we like parrot because no one else does

Who has previous playoff experience?
Str8 Metal - TJ and parrot have never played in the league before.
TJP11 – I’ve only played DXP.
Str8 Metal – They’re both truly rookies. We really transformed them.
TJP11 – Yeah, I didn’t even know how to hammer bounce.

Typically, the number 1 seed doesn’t do very well in amateur playoffs. What makes you guys think you will be different?
Str8 Metal – Thanks for telling us that! We’re gonna go out and win.
Str8 Eclipse – We don’t crack under pressure.
Str8 Metal – Most people in first seed think they’ll have an easy go at it and don’t practice. But if you flip it around, the #32 team knows they’re playing against the #1 seed and they’ll practice even harder. #1 seeds lose because they’re over confident. We plan on practicing just as hard and playing like it’s a championship game. We also have a custom muzzle to keep parrot from trash talking, so we don’t get kicked out of the league.

I know Metal and Eclipse have been to the playoffs before. Is it different being the #1 seed? Is there any extra pressure?
Str8 Eclipse – It was cooler being a nobody.
Str8 Metal – People take you lightly [when you’re unknown]. When you show up and you’re a good team people are surprised. Our first season, none of us had ever played and we made it to the final 4. People were shocked that happened.
Str8 Metal – You want to prove you deserve being #1.
TJP11 – When you’re the #1 seed, people expect more from you than the 32 seed or something.
Str8 Metal – You don’t want to let people down, or show that you don’t deserve the #1 spot.
Str8 Eclipse – You have to be prepared for hatemail because you will get it if you fail.
Str8 Metal – If you get beat by the #32 and you’re #1, people are going to send mail laughing at you. There’s definitely more pressure.
TJP11 – Nothing we can’t handle.
Str8 Metal – It’s all the more reason to go out and play harder. The hardest thing for us has been the player transition. Cody left right before playoffs, so now we have new teammate and new chemistry to figure out.

Best game you’ve played this season?
Str8 Metal – The first Hammertime match.
TJP11 –Definitely.
Str8 Eclipse – No doubt.
Str8 Metal – They had us down 4 -0 and we came back to beat them 5 -4.
Str8 Eclipse – Definitely a heart pounding game.

Which team are you most looking forward to playing against?
Str8 Metal – Ahooo. I think we’re all ready to play them. They might beat us, but we’re definitely ready to face them. 2 people from Str8 Grifin vs 3 people from Str8 grifin.
TJ P11– It’d be a good game no matter the score.
Str8 Metal – It’s a rivalry to be sure.

Who is a team you get along well with?
Str8 Metal – The Guilty sparks. They’re fun to scrim and always up for it.
Str8 Eclipse – Yeah.

What kind of emotion do you have going into your first playoff game?
Str8 Metal – Excited ready to play. I’m not nervous because I’m confident in my team’s abilities.
TJP11 – I don’t know, I’m kinda excited, but at the same time, I feel people over estimating us. I’m kinda anxious.
Str8 Eclipse – I’m excited because, you know, even if we go in and lose, we have two teammates who haven’t experienced Grifball completely, and it’s like a learning experience all around.
X parrot x – I’m excited because we’re gonna win it all.

Any pre-game rituals or superstitions?
Str8 Metal – We just all get together, joke around, have a good time and try not to get nervous, you know, it’s a game.

Str8 Metal –I’d have to go with Ahoo.
TJP11 – Off in the Shower.
Str8 Eclipse – Ahoo may have the best chance besides us.
