It’s been a while since I’ve posted an update on Hub happenings, so I figured it’s about time I did. There’s a lot going on behind the scenes. I suppose you could call it secret projects. Secret projects in the grifball community seem to be very popular lately.

The commish has secrets, the admins have secrets and even Nokyard (the league’s official map guy) has secrets. Like everyone else who has secrets, I’m not going to tell you about ours. I will talk about things that aren’t so secret though ;)

The Checka Challenge
There’s still a bit of time left to get your submission in for Goose’s caption contest called Checka Challenge. She’ll be announcing the winner tomorrow as well as posting a new challenge.

Penguin’s GRL Ratings
Penguin has asked me to post some sad news regarding his GRL ratings. Unfortunately he has had to cancel them this season. The following is the statement he asked me to post.

Due to the large number of week one games not yet played and the fact that there are certain week four games already played, the GRL Ratings will have to be cancelled until I can figure out an easier way to keep track of this. The system was designed to take the games in the order they were meant to be played in – some shuffling around is inevitable but these large gaps and swaps make it too difficult to keep track of.

I will do my best to have an easier system in place by next season.

Another HubCast Soon
Tonight we should be recording another HubCast. For the last couple weeks Tex has been trying to find the right time to get me on there to talk about GrifballHub and I would assume other subjects as well. We’re hopeful that tonight we can make it happen. I’m not positive, but Nokyard may be making an appearance as well to make an announcement or two. If not, that may be the subject of a separate HubCast.

Taking on HaloCharts
This Sunday the GrifballHub staff will be engaging in a friendly challenge with the folks responsible for HaloCharts.com. We’ll be playing grifball with them using various maps and variants. I will most likely be putting together a write-up on the following Monday and perhaps include a video featuring one of the games we play against them.

Pro League Top 10
If you love Zeg’s weekly Top 10 Pro League polls, you need to remember to submit your votes to him each week by sending a private message on Rooster Teeth. The reason you didn’t see a top 10 last week was simply because he didn’t receive enough votes. I’ll be doing my best to make a reminder here on the Hub each week letting everyone know they need to vote. Perhaps at some point I’ll make a mailing list as well for reminders.
