How to perform the Spawn Bonk launch

openlaunch

With more and more teams becoming adept at the Inside/Outside Launch, creative ways were needed to beat other teams to the pivotal bomb spawn. Toktyn (of That’s What She Said) created a launch that was named after his former team, Spawn Bonk. The objective is to launch a player to the bomb spawn faster, reduce the chances of betrayals, and include a defensive element to the tip off.

1. Much like the Inside/Outside Launch, you must first be aware of where you spawn. Taking the knowledge of four players spawning in a horizontal line, we’ll number the positions 1-4 from left to right.

2. The player in number 1 spot will be in the defensive position. He’ll immediately switch weapons to the sword, quickly moving towards the bomb spawn. If his team fails to obtain the bomb it becomes his duty to try and sword lunge the member of the opposing team who retrieved the bomb and steal it.

3. The number 2 and 4 spots are the launchers. Both players, instead of continuing to move forward, will need to hold back and swing their hammers. The resulting wave from their hammer swings will propel the final player (position 3) to the bomb spawn at a higher rate of speed than the Inside/Outside Launch due the closer proximity.

4. The job of the player in position 3 is to pick up the ball. He will need to move forward and jump to receive the benefits of the hammer waves from the 2 and 4 players. Once in flight, the 3 spot must determine what would be the best course of action in retrieving the bomb to begin the game, whether it be grab and retreat or smash and grab.

Remember initially while waiting in black screen, even before you spawn, you should be pushing forward on the left control stick. Quickly realize your location and then proceed accordingly. Don’t hesitate in playing your part. If done correctly the 3 spot will be able to contend for the ball rather quickly and the 1 spot will be able to contribute defensively.

I couldn’t have written this better myself. Phenomenal, and thank you.

I thought American Dream made up the Spawn Bonk! launch?

  3. KetnerJ says:

Man, this is the first thing I saw when I got here. Absolutely amazing stuff guys. Don’t know if Menz is correct or not, but regardless of that, great article.

Glad everyone approves so far :) Once I get a chance (and three other people together), I plan to make some short clips of both the spawn bonk and inside out launch which I can capture and post as an example along with each article.

  5. Toktyn says:

No, I created it – Klown went around telling people for a little while that AD did cuz he was confused and is retarded.

  8. Toktyn says:

Klown added the Sword part – I came up with the formation of it in a dream. All my good ideas come from my dreams.

  9. Madklowndisease says:

As for the American Dream thing…
Toktyn said he stole our launch from American Dream. I thought he meant our(Team) and not our(Me + Him).

BTW, Spawn Bonk! was spelled with a “!”

    Klown is bad, regardless.

Good advice. Inside/outside still works if you can be smart with it (i.e Don’t Flowers every time), but if I can teach my friends/team to use Spawn Bonk as a last resort tactic, I will. FYI I would love a scrimmage. Message me Xbox LIVE Gamertag: John Brown. Thanks again!
