Amateur and Pro League Registration is Open!
As I mentioned in a previous news update, this off season would be a short one and indeed it is. The sign-ups for GBSML09 have already begun. They were opened up today and will continue until June 30th.
For instructions on how to sign your team up, make sure you check out the latest post on Grifball.com.
XBOX Dashboard Theme Contest
If you think you have a few great screenshots worthy of being featured in an upcoming XBOX NXE dashboard theme, you should definitely consider sending along your links to them to Nathan@roosterteeth.com. He’s accepting submissions until June 29th, 8pm CST. There’s no mention of what sort of prizes will be awarded for chosen screenshots, but so what? An NXE dashboard theme would be be pretty freaking awesome.
Fantasy Grifball Anyone?
If you’re into fantasy sports leagues, you should consider checking out what Zeg is up to. Zeg is putting together a new fantasy league which will focus on players participating in the grifball Summer Pro league. You may recall, a few seasons back there was another fantasy league which I believe was run by Twizzted Status. While I didn’t participate (too lazy at the time), it was a great concept and a very cool addition to the grifball committee.
Quoted from Zeg:
How Fantasy Grifball Works: A player will take part in a live serpentine draft which will take place in the IRC. Each drafter will draft a team made up of eight Pro League players, not on the drafter’s grifball team (with the exception of Team Defenses.) Each week, the team owner will then chose five players to start while the remaining three are on your bench, unable to accumulate points. Depending on how each starter does in their league games, you will earn points and whomever has accumulated the greatest number of points at the end of the season will be crowned Fantasy Grifball Champion.
This has the potential to be a lot of fun and I’ll certainly be participating. If you’re interested in playing as well, you should contact Zeg very soon.
