So here we are in the final week of the Summer season. At least I think it is. I’ve lost count a bit, since my team finished our games a tad early.
Regardless, the regular season is coming to an end SOON, so if your team has yet to complete all of its games, you better get it done sooner rather than later or risk becoming a forfeit factory. Nobody wants that. While you’re at it, don’t forget to save and submit your highlights. Information regarding how and precisely where to submit them can be found in the Grifball.com FAQ. It’s a simple process, trust me.
Double XP This Weekend!
The favorite time of the month for many a grifballer has arrived. While it’s still not ranked, and may never be, we do finally see a change to our beloved grifball playlist this month. There will be several of Nokyard’s sandbox maps and variants floating around, giving us the opportunity to finally veto. The mythic maps are optional, so don’t worry if you don’t yet have them.
With Double XP Comes Pup and Friends
As usual I’ll be putting together a highlight reel featuring epic and lolzy plays from matchmaking weekend. To be eligible, you simply need to make a clip of your highlight and send it to me on XBOX Live to my gamertag – puptastrophe. Please don’t fill your entire fileshare and recommend every single highlight to me. I’d prefer if you send no more than three highlights. Pick a few of your most favorite and seen them along.
I hope to see more submissions this month from folks outside of the community, not involved in the grifball league. Keep one thing in mind though, rolling up a killionaire against a team where two or more people have quit is not really all that epic. In fact that falls more into the douche category.
Grifball.com Looks Nice, But is it Functional?
So just recently there was a giant update to the Rooser Teeth family of websites, including Grifball.com. While it looks great, it seems many are having issues. Logging in and out seems to be broken, team and player sign-ups are goofy and apparently some are having trouble reporting games. I’ve also personally noticed that I can no longer see the stats on the results pages. I can see the score and which team won, but the tables won’t collapse down to reveal the stats for me. Argh. Hopefully all of these issues will be dealt with soon.
More Pro League Upsets
Before I go, I’d like to congratulate a couple teams for scoring some pretty nice wins this week. Red Ray knocked off a much improved Put it on the Pad, thanks in large part to Papa Cap X who apparently put on his host hat and hammered his team to victory. Final score, 6-3.
In an even bigger upset this week, the previously winless Scuba Squad knocked off +1 Zing, the last undefeated team to the tune of 6-3. Judging by the stats it would appear JoePro and his scuba friends won off-host. Nicely done, guys.

They had host.
Sorry it’s a surprise that YNM is a good off host tank.
forgot the :P
I never said it was a surprise at all. I said judging by stats, it appeared Scuba Squad was off-host. Didn’t even mention Nasty. I know he’s a good player. I’ve played with him quite a bit.
If the Scuba folk indeed had host, nice job by them playing awful on it and still managing to win ;)
lol it’s fine.
We out tanked them pretty bad, just the new lineup’s experience together hurt us a lot.
ZM are totally undefeated…
@Silva: I’m sure you guys will be fine in the playoffs ;)
@Scet: LOLz
Yeh that was my host. Its a nice Runner Host, Joe connected well. It doesn’t effect hammer range that much.
