GRIFBALL MATCHMAKING UPDATE

GrifballLogo_915x380Grifballers jumping into matchmaking in the last week might have noticed a slight change for the better: Vanilla Grifball and Grifball Dash games now end once a team has scored three points, which is a change from the previous month’s settings where the games were mistakenly set to run all five rounds, regardless of the score. Now every gametype in the Grifball playlist will end once the winning team reaches three goals.

Coming up, we are submitting a small update for January to fix a few more outstanding issues from the (massive) December update:

Remove Radiant because of frame rate issues
Include Impact Arena for Vanilla Grifball
Include Sierra Vista for Grifball Dash
Move all Blargball maps and gametypes to the third voting slot

This changes, if accepted by 343, will go live in early February.

We are also reaching out to the Grifball community for the next major update to the playlist. For December, we added a dozen community-created Vanilla Grifball maps. For March, we will be looking for new Grifball Dash and Blargball maps for the hopper!

Map guru runNokyardrun has the details in this thread:

Dash courts should be the standard 30×30 with no wall-hop ledge and a perfectly smooth or Grid floor. You may use the Dash template as a basis for your map, or create one from scratch using the template as a measurement guide.

Blargball courts should also be rectangular, walled-in (not open like Clover) with a wall-hop, based on the new Blargball specification.

Please note we are not looking for Vanilla maps at this time.

You may nominate your own court, or someone else’s court you would like to see in Matchmaking. To nominate a court simply visit the court’s thread, quote the OP, copy and paste the OP in this thread.

Maps for this update are due in very early February.
