Grifball – It’s Contagious

toktyn_comm_feat

Everyone knows I love Grifball. In fact, I love Grifball a lot. I love it enough to skip class to get 4000 experience in matchmaking. I love Grifball enough to spend a bajillion hours actually making a commercial advertising it. The script and idea were written up for this commercial months ago, but I was only able to actually create this through the help of quite a few people, and I can’t thank these people enough. Below are the people who were generous enough to help me with this project with no compensation other than the satisfaction of seeing the final product we have here.

Puppy – Thank you immensely for helping me find the device I’ve got for capturing and showing me the ropes in Vegas when my software failed on me. I also appreciate the space you’ve given me to upload and post this all onto the Grifball Hub. Without your help, I’d be forced to try and air this to everyone via Youtube. I’d get a whole 6 views. Maybe.

J Nogard – The film wouldn’t look like what it does if you weren’t playing around with the lighting so damn much. You helped me forge together and set up the camera shots before we even started filming. We spent quite a few hours with rehearsal and setup. You also did a fantastic job of letting me boss you around telling you to run here and run there. Your patience and acting were superb.

Penguin – I can’t believe how much time you spent with the music. I had originally planned to use a random piece of music I had or write something up myself, but instead, you provided me with numerous versions of a couple original tunes that you wrote. Not only did I get to use a piece of original music, but the music you wrote and gave me fit absolutely seamlessly into this project, down to the very last second. You also deserve credit for helping Nogard and I with some of the staging.

BobbyBirdseed – When you messaged me offering to do the voice acting part for this, I will admit that I was a bit skeptical. I hadn’t known you for too terribly long yet, and I already had Nogard in mind for the acting. Then I gave you a shot, and we recorded over Xbox Live. Though the audio quality was a bit shady, I was, and still am, thoroughly impressed with the acting. But that wasn’t all. I wrote up a rough edit of the entire thing, had you watch it, and then you offered up a new idea for recording the audio at the expense of your own time. Because of that, the commercial has a much greater feeling of professional quality to it, and I couldn’t be more satisfied with the results. Bobby, anyone in the community who isn’t familiar with you yet is missing out. You’re a great guy to have in the community. Plus, you’re a Minnesotan.

And last but not least, thank you to the large group of people who had to run around in circles and die when I told you to for 45+ minutes. It took a few tries, but we got exactly the shots I was looking for.

This commercial belongs to the community and Grifball Hub. Thank you, everyone. I mean it.

That gave me goosebumps! I hope you do the other two commercials as well (eventually. I mean, that sounds like it was a ton of work) It turned out great.

I must say, I am proud of what we put together here. I look forward to helping out with other future projects. I will tease you (the audience) with this much.

Toktyn and I are in fact, working on other “projects.” What they will entail? You’ll just have to wait and find out. (One hint: A trip to Mall of America will need to take place.)

Your next project had best feature advertisements for the old school awesome. Idk what grifball is but I bet it goes better with the delicious crunch of a pizza nut.
