How did this team come together?

T Rich Da King– TNT Bioshocker.

I MajorSilva I – I don’t know. I stole Twizzted and I stole T Rich and then yeah, we won.

YoungNastyMan79 – The plan was to do +1 Zing again but we couldn’t get Lord Stanley back. Instead we got menz. Even with menz, Stanley didn’t want to come back. Then we got T Rich.

Twizzted Status – He needed to switch it up.

YoungNastyMan79 – Then we had Blade and then he rage quit. Since we had a lot of players that weren’t on +1 zing, we picked Dat Orange Kush as our name.

How did you get your name?

T Rich Da King– Basically my friend was over and we were messing around on XBL. He was acting high that night and he came over said, “Yeah I’m smoking dat orange kush now” and yeah, that was it.

YoungNastyMan79 – It was just lolzy because he just sat that there saying it. He just kept saying “I’m smoking dat kush.” We thought that was hilarious.

Twizzted Status – DOK spells out “Doc” and Doc [Status] wins games, so we said DOK wins games.

How long have you all been in the league?

Twizzted Status – I’ve played every season since SL08. No breaks.

I MajorSilva I – WL08.

MenZtrualCramps – WL08, actually, I played before the original 8 tournament.

YoungNastyMan79 – I’ve been around forever. Ever since WL08 and played every season.

T Rich Da King– I started playing WL09, but my first season wasn’t until SL09.

Your team was predicted in the preseason to be the #1 team in the Pro League. Did you feel any kind of extra pressure?

Twizzted Status – No because we knew we were gonna win from the start. It wasn’t a really big deal.

YoungNastyMan79 – Don’t sound too cocky.

Twizzted Status – I’m just being honest, don’t want to lie to her.

T Rich Da King– We were a random team that came together and I’m the best player ever and brought it together Lebron James style.

The two losses you had came late in the season, did that effect how you prepared for playoffs?

T Rich Da King– Actually, it didn’t because the only regular season games we lost were the ones I didn’t play in.

Twizzted Status – We played Crowing.

T Rich Da King– So we knew it didn’t make a difference. It wasn’t our strongest line up. During playoffs, we’d have our strongest line up there.

I MajorSilva I – But crowing gets those Rooster Bucks.

How did you decide on your playoff roster?

Twizzted Status – Me, T Rich and Silva were obvious because we’re amazing and Nasty had to work a lost this season. Menz played a lot this season. We felt confident with the line-up.

MenZtrualCramps – Anyone but Crowing.

What were your expectations coming into this season?

YoungNastyMan79 – Win a ship.

T Rich Da King– Beat Doc and Thumee.

MenZtrualCramps – I just wanted to have fun with a good runner for once.

YoungNastyMan79 – I needed that championship, I was in a drought.

How does your team compare to other teams that have won the Pro championship?

T Rich Da King– Basically our team is pussyfooting with 3 strong tanks. We try to get the ball from the tip and don’t mess around.

Twizzted Status – We’re as good as any team that’s won it.

T Rich Da King– We’re not the biggest launching team, but we can do anything. We can out tank any team.

The game that won you guys the championship was an hour and seven minutes long, the longest playoff game ever and the second longest game of all time. What was that like and how did you feel after?

Twizzted Status – It felt long as hell because all I did was hold the bomb. 19 minutes straight in the 8th round. After it was just a relief because we didn’t have to play again and we won.

MenZtrualCramps – I didn’t realize how long it was.

T Rich Da King– That one round took forever.

Twizzted Status – It was 4 -3 and we were winning and it was a 32 minute round.

YoungNastyMan79 – No. People were like “your team is playing,” and I was like “Ok, I’m going to sleep.” Twizz sent me a voicemail though, it was the most amazing thing, he was singing “We are the Champions” and he just kept on singing and it was great.

Who would be on your Grifball dream team?

YoungNastyMan79 – rj macpot.

Twizzted Status – What qualifies as a dream team? Best or most fun?

YoungNastyMan79 – I’ll answer first. One team that could be put together that would make me shit my pants would be CleoMouri, RJ Macpot, Rx Princess and Wayward Spleen.

Twizzted Status – I think I team I wouldn’t want to play would be Pie, T Rich, Shadow, and Thumee. I think that team would be pretty impressive .

T Rich Da King– I would say I wouldn’t want to play TheOneHawk because he’s amazing. I have to throw Goosechecka up there because I hear she’s pretty good. I’d throw up Young and a Silva and Twiz combo.

MenZtrualCramps – People I’d like to play with? One of the old school SI teams. Zeg, Stanley, Spudhead, Roman Arrow and TNT. Might not be the best team, but they’d be fun to play with.

Did you expect to win re-election?

Tick iz a Kitty – No, I’ve never had luck with these elections and I saw no reason why my luck should have changed know, maybe it would have been a different story if more people would have voted.

Only 12 people voted in the election. Do you have any guess as to why so few people participated?

Tick iz a Kitty – I’ve been asking around and it seems that most forgot. We’ve also seen a decline in the usage of Grifball.com and forums.

When will the next EU season start?

Tick iz a Kitty – Sign-ups will begin on the 2nd of July through to the 10th. Then the league will begin on the 12th of the same month.

Will you be playing on a team next season?

Tick iz a Kitty – I will be captaining a team next season, so will another member of our team. We felt like we were hoarding all the very best players in the league so we decided to pick a couple of extra players up and split into two teams. We’re currently fighting over who’s allowed to be called ‘The Surprising Grifball and Kitten-Related Adventures of Sir Digby Chicken Ceaser’, or ‘TSaKRAoSDCC’ for short.

Who do you think will win the World Cup?

Tick iz a Kitty – Gun to my head, I’d say Argentina, but I’m routing for Honduras now since I just put a £10 bet on them at 2500/1 to win it all. Pretty safe bet in my opinion.

From the Commissioner’s perspective, how do you feel the previous EU league went?

Tick iz a Kitty – It didn’t go perfect by an stretch of the imagination. We had a lot of difficulty with new teams unwilling to participate in the league for no reason other than they just didn’t want to play. It couldn’t be helped and the Amateur teams that did want to play missed out on a number of games because of it, which is a shame but hopefully this won’t put them off playing in the coming season.

On the other hand, the Legacy teams did very well and with certain players banned, the pre-game lobbies, forums and league in general has had a much nicer and friendlier feel to it. Also my team won, which in my biased opinion makes it the best season so far.

What changes are you planning for the upcoming season?

Tick iz a Kitty – I’m trying to go for a much more laid back feel to the league next season with a new league format and the Grifballers Players Lounge. The league format will be one league with an aim for between 8-10 teams. The premise is to have the league last longer than a normal league and be split into rounds. Each round I will schedule a set of games where everyone plays everyone once. To give it a more laid back feel playing games will not be mandatory, meaning teams can drop in and out of the league if they feel they need a break, whilst still allowing the more competitive teams to get as many games as possible played. There will be two awards given out at the end of each round, one for the overall point leader, and one for the most improved team. Between rounds will act as any other off-season with players being allowed to transfer between teams and such. There will be a much more robust explanation posted in new EU thread when it’s posted.

The Grifball Players Lounge need a little less explanation. It’s essentially a group designed for all leagues to come together and arrange tournaments in other games besides Grifball. There will be a representative from each league as an admin to ensure that all leagues are evenly looked after.

Kev1897: Well I first was asked to join this team back in SML09 and then was given captain because our old captain had some issues to deal with.Then I recruited Asuma and Shon the following season.

FoShoSHon: I joined the team last season.

cmay13: I was recruited after coming back from suspension.

Kev1897: Well you joined in SML09 too Shon for like a few hours.

FoShoSHon: Oh yeah.

What’s it like being back in ammy again after 1 season in pro?

Asumasarutob2: Well I am a little mad about it but all I can say is that we were doing good in pro so we should have not got put back in ammy.

Kev1897: Well going 4-6 In Pro for my first time was great. Got used to having neutral host more.It feels the same as back in SML09 when I first started because we made it to the Final 4.Now I feel we can get to the Finals or championship whatever you guys want to call it.

FoShoSHon: Different….but it’s actually been pretty fun since we were put in a tough division.

Asumasarutob2: Yep i agree Shon.

What do you think the best match-up of the playoffs will be (feasible or not)?

FoShoSHon: Dragon’s Mom vs Team Haiti.

Kev1897: DiE vs Red Ray Since there’s a possible chance we may play them. But I also agree with Shon because they are both great teams that have alot of experience.

Asumasarutob2: I think Red Ray will be pretty good match against us.

What is the best game you played this season?

Kev1897: DiE vs Collateral Damage Game 1.

cmay13: I haven’t really been following the playoffs I’ll be honest.

FoShoSHon: 1st game against We Instigate Nothing. That was a close and intense game. I had a lot of fun.

What team is your biggest rival?

Asumasarutob2: I’m not sure, Zero Logic?

Kev1897: Harmful if Swallowed = biggest rival even though we never played them.

FoShoSHon: Not sure really. For this season though, it’s Collateral Damage.

Do you have any team shenanigans or superstitions?

Kev1897: Well um Asuma always betrays me every god damn time I am near him.Tha’ts 1. Another one is that we get nice hawk-dives when Asuma. But its all luck.

Asumasarutob2: Yeah but it happens every game lol luck or not.

FoShoSHon: Well before every game during the network test I go in the corner, crouch and say a prayer in my head.

What are you plans for next season?

Asumasarutob2: I don’t know, hopefully they put us back in pro that would be great.

Kev1897: I’m going on vacation so cant play in SML10 but I would be glad to give Cloaking or Shon Captain if they wanted to continue, but I would get captain back after that.

Asumasarutob2: I think Cloaking should have leader and i can get the players in the game.

FoShoSHon: Well, I hope to stay and have another fun season with these guys. It’s been a blast these past two seasons.

Asumasarutob2: Yes, I think we as Deadly if Eaten have come very far in the league.

Kev1897: Watch out cause DiE is winning that championship or finals.

A Baby Tortoise- We are a cluster-f*ck combination of Bleep Bloop and Hard Liquor Chasers.

TheHolmcross – How did we start talking about forming a team?

Camper – We were going to join with Green Army, have 8 of us on there. Then they limited it to 6 on the roster. So I thought we’d do one more with the Bleep Bloop roster but then Holmcross didn’t want to be alone.

TheHolmcross – I expressed interest with Green Army and then Highland said, “Guess what? You’rrrrre on Greeen Arrrrmy”. We practiced and I think I like how things are now better.

Camper – We’ve all played together forever, so it wasn’t tough to say, “hey lets play one more season”.

Anubis – I saw Dragon’s Mom and was like “who is this?” and I sent pup a message and he asked if I wanted to join? And of course I said yes.

Camper – Yeh, I didn’t even ask him.

Anubis – Before that I was absent from Halo for 4 months. I just hopped on for the occasional meet and greet.

Combined, your team has about 30 seasons of experience. What keeps you coming back to the league?

Camper – It’s these guys. I mean I would have played with Green Army because they’re great guys, but there’s no other team I’d want to play with. I come back for these guys.

TheHolmcross – Honestly, if it wasn’t for these guys here, the way things have been going in the community, if I didn’t have so much fun with these guys I would have stopped a year ago. It’s great playing and knowing that you’re going to have a good time. That’s what keeps me around.

Camper – Yeah we have the games we lose and we’re grumpy and pissy for a few days but then we go back to having fun.

Cofrog – I would have quit a long time ago if not for the people I play with.

TheHolmcross – After SML08 after Hard Liquor Chasers split, I almost quit because I had no desire to play. And then we played one more season and we did really well, better than expected, and seeing how much we’d improved it kept me motivated to try a little harder and…

Camper – Put on your try hard pants.

The Holmcross – We all went off in our own direction but migrated back to this group.

What team do you want to play the most in the playoffs?

Camper – Grif Reapers again. I like playing them. Everyone will look at the scores and think it wasn’t competitive, but it was. They gave us the biggest challenge all season. In both games, the first 5 rounds, it was close and competitive. I think a third game would be the same way. They’d play us pretty tough.

A Baby Tortoise – They played us better when we had host.

Camper – Yeah, that was weird.

TheHolmcross – It was like that in the other neutral host game we played too and we actually beat them worse.

Anubis – And I was in both the second games, so you know…

A Baby Tortoise – I’m looking forward to playing Green Army. I really want that to happen. The ROFLS would be spectacular.

Camper – Hopefully they’d stay green bar.

TheHolmcross – Personally, I’d really like to play Team Haiti because they are the only team that has as much experience as we do. A year ago they knocked out HLC when we thought we were gonna go all the way. We haven’t played anyone from there since, so I’d like another shot.

Camper – It’d be a lot of fun to play CAG too. They’re always fun to play with. It’s definitely two different styles. We tank aggressively and they take advantage of the aggression.

TheHolmcross – We also like to launch we just haven’t had to.

What teams or players do you look up to?

A Baby Tortoise – Penguinocalypse.

Cofrog – Penguinocalypse. I have a personal stake with Penguin. He and Tortoise are the ones that pulled me on the team and were always practicing and showing me how to do crazy stuff.

TheHolmcross – Ever since I played Marathon Runners in playoffs and playing against Andrew Panton, that’s the only time I can recall being cornered by the bomb carrier. He was beastly back then.

Camper – On this team it’d be Cofrog. When we used to scrim each other, we’d have such epic hammer battles. I’ve learned a lot playing against him. He’s one of the best off-host tanks I’ve seen play. A lot of my tanking is because of him. If I had to go to someone from another team, it’d be Phoenixrage. Playing against him was frightening when I first started. He used to do blind striking, which is radar killing, and he’d kill me without looking. I was so happy when I learned to combat that. I learned a lot by watching and playing against him.

Anubis – I started as a matchmaking kid, I would just play with my buddies and then I got on Red Ray and they were cool and I guess I was too serious business. Honestly, everyone on this team has really taught me everything. The frogging from Cofrog – I can do that to other people and go through almost anyone because all I do in practice is try to punch Cofrog.

Camper – Which usually doesn’t work.

Anubis – Yeah, it’s about half the time. Everyone collectively has made me a better player.

A Baby Tortoise – The two players I look up to the most are Penguin and Cofrog. Penguin and I used to spend ungodly amounts of time running sword practice. All the practice is the only reason I can swing a hammer and kill something.

Camper – That’s debatable.

A Baby Tortoise – I call Cofrog a mindless tank but I need him to carry me to the goal.

Cofrog – Guthouse is who I learned tanking from. He was a beast. I used to 1 on 1 practice with him late into the night, he was just mean. It was like hazing.

TheHolmcross – When we look back when we first started, we were terrible.

Camper – Yeah, I had like 10 betrayals in my first game.

Cofrog – How do you remember that?!

If you could create a Grifball Dream Team, who would be the starting four?

Camper – Cofrog because he’s a beast off-host. Runner, it’d be a toss-up between Scet and Twizzted. Scet’s a little punch happy, but he’s good at it. For hybrid, I’d pick Shadow. I know Zeg’s had a down year, but he’s pretty damn good. Throw him in there too.

A Baby Tortoise – Start with runner and pick Scet because he terrifies the living crap out of me. For a tank, I’d pick, I’d do 2 tanks, I’d pick Cofrog for the same reason as pup and I’d pick Redbaron. I fear that man’s hammer like you wouldn’t believe. For a 4th, I’d pick Doc Status. I’ve yet to meet a person that’s that terrifying with a bomb, a sword, a hammer, lying dead on the floor… anytime.

Anubis – I really don’t pay attention enough. I’m gonna pass.

TheHolmcross – I’d have to go with Scet, Doc Status, Shadow and Andrew Panton from 2 years ago. If you had that combination, that’s untouchable.

Cofrog – I’d have to agree with Scet because he’s one of the most well-rounded runners. I’d want Doc as a tank, he’s best with the hammer, I think. He’s damn patient and damn scary with his hammer out. TWSS intended. Probably Thumee as the other tank and Shadow as the hybrid.

What’s your favorite Grifball memory?

A Baby Tortoise – There are way too many times we’ve just rolled over laughing on the court.

Camper – There’s so many things, but I think the “Check it” – that thing was the funniest.

Cofrog – It was the last pro league season and I think we had the ball. I do tend to spin and check out the pad to make sure someone isn’t there. For some reason I yelled someone’s on the pad, check it.

Camper – For the rest of the game, we just kept saying “someone’s on the pad, check it!”

Anubis – I remember exactly where I was in the game. I was on the right side in between the corner and half court. I see a guy hawk-diving and gets launched to the back of the pad. And in a stern voice Cofrog said “there’s one on the pad, check it”. There was a pause and we all started laughing.

Camper – He was so stern the way he said it.

Anubis – I was seriously crying, there were tears.

TheHolmcross – I remember in a league game, our second game on HLC against Green Army in Spring of last year. This play was so ridiculous that they almost disputed it because they didn’t believe it could happen. The ball was on top of our own goal and there was a scramble. One of them eventually picked it up on top of the plant, RedB3ard killed him instantly and he got launched back. Someone else picked up the bomb, turned orange, put a toe on the pad and I killed him and I was able to get the ball. Every time I want to run something in, I show that clip to Tex and he gets so angry.

A Baby Tortoise – My favorite experience was the all-star game that Cofrog and I played in. The beauty of that game was that I was completely drunk. I was just running wherever the dots told me to go. Cofrog is yelling at me and somehow it happened to work.

Cofrog – It was the tie-breaker game.

Camper – I remember watching and typing into the chat saying “they’re gonna pass it”.

Cofrog – It was a beautiful pass, I caught it in stride on the way to the pad.

Plans for next season?

Camper – I don’t at the moment, no. Wait and see how this one ends. What goes on with the league with the summer season… I don’t know. We’ll make up our minds when the season’s over.

Cofrog – We never know what we’re doing. We say we’re retiring so many times and never do. We finally did and then we came back.

Camper – What brings us back is we go into DXP together and we get that bug to play again.

Cofrog – Grifball brings us all back into the same party.

TheHolmcross – No matter what season, I try not to think about the next one until the present is over. I’ll wait and see what this team decides to do, but I’ll do something.

Camper – We can play until Reach ruins Grifball.

TheHolmcross – We’ll get one more season in.

NHALING2XHALE – The game against Dat Orange Kush. We didn’t think we’d come close to putting up a good showing and the we almost won. It was impressive. We all played together really well. They got a quick launch on us and won, but it was a really good game.

NHALING2XHALE – Make sure you know who to pay attention to and learn from them because a lot of people don’t know what’s going on. If someone tries to help you, listen to them. When I became captain, we started to be legit and win pro league games.

himynameiz jbar – I haven’t been on Zero Logic long, but I was in ammy 5 seasons. So to the ammy kids, just keep playing. If you want to win in the pro league, have a good captain. I’m not the brightest person so I have to ask Nhaling what to do. He tells me what to do and we score.

How did you guys become Green Army Jr?

RallyFox – We got started by Green Team Tex and Green Army – they started an ammy team. There were 8 of us originally and Taco and I are the only ones who stayed. There were lots of little dramas and I ended up becoming captain with about 2 days left in the season. In our second season, we also had Banjo.

How did your current roster form?

RallyFox – We change almost every season. 1st season, half the team left. Second season, everyone but Taco and I left, so we picked up GhostMachine.

Nuclear Taco 42– Yeah, it was me and you and we picked up CMB Numero Uno and GhostMachine.

RallyFox – This season Uno didn’t want to play anymore, and Dinzo played for us the last few games of last season, so we kept him because he’s turned out to be a super tank and we made Ghost come back and play for us because we needed someone to get along with us.

Does your team have any shenanigans or pre-game rituals?

Nuclear Taco 42 – There’s one that Ghost and I like to do.

GhostMachine024 – We run toward each other at the start of a match and punch each other till we die at the same time.

How has this season been different than previous seasons?

RallyFox – We legitimately won games.

Nuclear Taco 42 – That sounds about right. We played with the same four people throughout the season, too.

RallyFox – Yeah, that’s been the biggest thing. This season we knew our roster ahead of time and it’s stayed that way. Aside from Ever Growing Crisis, we played legitimately well and almost all wins, we legitimately earned them.

Who was your biggest rival this season?

Nuclear Taco 42 – Definitely Ever Growing Crisis.

RallyFox – I dunno. They dominated us, but we didn’t really have any rivals, or anything that I would call a rivalry.

Nuclear Taco 42 – Maybe Thundercats?

RallyFox – Yeah, we split with Thundercats – they won one and we won one.

What team do you have the most fun with?

Nuclear Taco 42 – Definitely Team Omega. They’re really the only team I play a lot with, I mean, as an individual.

RallyFox – What? What’s the first part of our team name? Like Green Army or something?

Nuclear Taco 42 – She said most fun.

RallyFox – I’d say Green Army and a rookie ream in our division, Team RNR, they were really fun to play. Overall, Green Army is the most fun and anytime Bobby and Banjo are on is a good time.

What are your plans for next season?

RallyFox – Keep playing.

Nuclear Taco 42 – Yeah, probably keep the same roster.

RallyFox – Try to get Dinzo to talk at all. I think Ghost is the only one we don’t know if he’s gonna play or not. Green Army Jr will still be around though.

You guys have had some pretty rough seasons in the past. Any advice to newer teams going through a difficult season?

RallyFox – Stick with it and don’t give up. Our first season, we lost every game and most we lost pretty bad. If you can find some people that you get along with who can help you and show you tricks, ask them to help you. The league’s been around so long and players are really good. Any new team is going to struggle. Just stick it out.

GhostMachine024 – Don’t be fooled by DXP Grifball.

RallyFox – Yeah, you see people who think they’re good in DXP and it’s a totally different game than the DXP weekend.

What team or player do you look up to?

RallyFox – Nanadel.

Nuclear Taco 42 – Definitely Green Army.

RallyFox – Anyone but Greenhorn, he betrays everyone and he’s cheering for Montreal right now, so we don’t like him. But yeah, Nanadel, Honcho, Tex, we all like them and everything – oh my god that was so close he almost scored that it was in the crease it was on the goal line and he knocked it out!

RallyFox – What was I talking about? Oh yeah, they’ve all shown us a lot and we look up to all of them. They stuck with us and helped us out a lot and always answered our questions and have done a lot.

Who did you want to play in the playoffs and who did you not want to play?

RallyFox – I didn’t want to play Green Army if Highland was playing because I can’t do anything on his host, I can’t even kill myself. At some point in first round or whatever, I would have liked to play them just for the fun of it.

Nuclear Taco 42 – I didn’t want to play Ever Growing Crisis unless we could have played them later on when it’s neutral host.

RallyFox – I didn’t want to play on their host, or on Soviet Machine’s host. We went through that last season and it was kinda ugly. There’s not a team we don’t get along with, so we’ll play anyone. Getting into the playoffs was a big deal for us so we didn’t really care who we played.

Dinzo 14 – I didn’t want to play the same team as Taco.

How did the Pineapples come together?

slimjimx50 – I was on Rooster Teeth a lot and I saw when they made the Grifball video. Me and Eduardo started a team and eventually the other guys we know like Santa, and Fire, basically all people we know, joined up.

FireBird718 – I joined like 2 years after you guys started.

Homicide Santa – We’re probably the only team that know each other in real life.

Where did the name come from?

Homicide Santa – So slim called me up and he’s like we need a team name and he wanted to call it the pumas.

What has kept you guys coming back season after season?

Slim – We just enjoy it. It keeps us coming back to Halo and it’s something to do online as friends together. We play as a group and enjoy playing.

Toughluck44 – It’s the most different game online. It’s different. You can’t get it in Modern Warfare or Left 4 Dead or any other big name game. One of the best online games I’ve ever played.

Slimjimx50 – You feel like a real team.

FireBird718 – I really enjoy the game and the competitive environment.

Homicide Santa – It’s just different and I would have sold Halo if not for Grifball.

What’s been your previous experience in playoffs?

Slimjimx50 – Almost every season we’ve made the playoffs, but always lose in the first or second round.

What’s different this season than past seasons?

FireBird718 – I like to think we’ve been trying harder, new strategies, hopefully new moves will pay off. Hopefully we’ll go farther, even the championship.

Slimjimx50 – Every year we get better and eventually we’ll be able to make it.

Toughluck44 – This is one of the first seasons we’ve actually practiced. We can say one thing and everyone knows what to do. In the first season, we had to explain everything, like flowers count it out, like 3, 2, 1. We automatically know what to do and don’t have to explain – we all know our places and what our position is.

FireBird718 – Everyone’s position is a lot more defined.

Homicide Santa – This season we had a really good division. The season before we had all forfeit factories, the season before that it was all Pro team and that really didn’t help us.

What team do you want to play most in the playoffs?

FireBird718 – Last week I’d say Soviet Machine. We love them.

Slimjimx50 – I’m gonna say it right now, X 13.

Homicide Santa – X13 because they forfeited us and then we played and beat them.

Slimjimx50 – They forfeited and we disputed it. We talked to the commissioner and overturned the
forfeits. They were like, we forfeit, and we were like, no you gotta play us.

FireBird718 – A friendly rivalry I would have said Soviet Machine, but they’re having some problems. But I really want to play Bad Kidz Anonymous again.

Slimjimx50 – Yeah, the games against them were really close and it’d be good to play and have more close games. Also Green Army, not really a rivalry, but I really want to play them again and this time we’ll do better. They set the bar higher than the rest of the teams.

Do you have plans for next season?

Slimjimx50 – Essentially just like a reset button. Different teams, different problems, but we just keep going. We’ll practice more, get to know more teams, get friendlier. We’re close with Soviet Machine and
Te Veman Mando’ade. Just know more teams and get better.

Homicide Santa – We always seem to make friends with teams in our division.

FireBird718 – Practice more and meet new people.

Does your team have any rituals or superstitions?

Slimjimx50 – We never give the ball to toughluck, and Eduardo will always fall through the floor

Slimjimx50 – Always at least one betrayal every game. I also like to play naked every game.

Slimjimx50 – They played on our team but we had to get rid of – in zeke we trust and thug almighty x. They’re good players and if anyone is looking for players try to contact them. Zeke is a ball runner and x is a tank and zeke pulls host.

According to the pre-season predictions, you guys were ranked very low by the community. Why do you think people underestimated your team?

zDRAGONSBLOODz– If you look at our team, the teams I’ve been captain of since we change names a lot, every year no matter how much success we’ve had, people have always underrated and underestimated us.

Glasgow knight – I’m not sure if we’ve been underestimated, they’ve called it on the dot.

zDRAGONSBLOODz– Some don’t even expect us to make final 4 in most seasons.

Glasgow knight – That seems to be our legacy.

zDRAGONSBLOODz– Both times we’ve been beat by the champs. Most of those final 4 years we were missing some of our starters. 2 out of the 3 seasons we were missing our starters.

Invite Spammer – Final 4 is what we’re made for.

Glasgow knight – We do have some of the least popular people in the league. Some of it is definitely earned though.

zDRAGONSBLOODz– We were given that before we were ever good in the league.

Glasgow knight – I think I might have earned what I got.

zDRAGONSBLOODz- Some of the ranking is well deserved because of lack of chemistry with starting players. People always pick Scet Shin’s team to win every year and we beat them but still they’re more favored than us the majority of the time.

Glasgow knight – In this league there is definitely an upper class of people that scratch each others’ backs. It’s unavoidable. There’s nothing that can be done about that.

Priest XYZ – I don’t know. I haven’t even been here, I’ve been here a month. Actually, it’s because we were in the division with Orange Kush. We were in the division with part of last season’s champs.

Dat Orange Kush was projected to dominate Division 4, but your team handed them one of their only 2 losses. What was different in that game compared to the first time you played?

zDRAGONSBLOODz– They played Super Status and we played Redbaron.

zDRAGONSBLOODz– We played Orange Kush in the first week of our team being together. We didn’t have good chemistry and we had time to play better as the season progressed. That was also a factor.

You guys face Broadband Only Please in the wildcard round of playoffs. Since you lost to them in the regular season, what do you plan on doing differently this time around?

zDRAGONSBLOODz– Hopefully block launches.

Glasgow knight – We had no Air Force at all. We were destroyed by that. We couldn’t stop a launch.

zDRAGONSBLOODz– We had no launch defense. We got outplayed and we didn’t play a good defense. We usually have good launch defense and we didn’t have it at all.

Glasgow knight – I rubbed ointment on my ass to recover from what their launches did to me.

zDRAGONSBLOODz- Honestly –

Where did the team name come from?

Glasgow knight – I dunno where they came up with the name, I wasn’t here, but I believe it’s retarded. But it follows suit with the other names we’ve had.

zDRAGONSBLOODz– The team name was random. Spammer was the biggest advocate because he thought it’d be funny if we lost in the final four and our team name was “told ya so”.

How did this roster of players come together?

Invite Spammer – I’m nasty, that’s how we got together.

Glasgow knight – I left in the middle of last season and came back in the middle of this season becasuse I needed a break. “I don’t need Grifball, I don’t need Grifball… Oh wait, I need Grifball”.

Invite Spammer: Yeah, I was texting you that I had this new rookie…

Glasgow knight – And I said, “oh no, spammer is training a rookie – the rookie will become a total failure. “

zDRAGONSBLOODz– Spammer used to be the worst player on the team. He used to play with our team just to get better, he practiced and has gotten to be a good starter. In the off season we picked up A Silver Hippo to get a fifth. Last season we had 2 starters quit and we didn’t want to go through that. Laggerz wanted a guarantee start over Hippo and I said I’d play the best players and so he left the team. Priest was in ammy and wanted to get good so he practices with us. I think he’s really become a good player now. We had the opportunity to play him because Digital phased out, and we played Priest and then we picked up RedBaron back in the middle of the season because we wanted a veteran.

If you could face off against any Grifball team that has ever played, who would it be?

Invite Spammer: Red Ray.

zDRAGONSBLOODz– Knight and I are thinking the same thing.

zDRAGONSBLOODz– It would definitely be SI back when it was CITI or Zeg’s host, back when NH wasn’t implemented. We would have loved to verse them when Zeg pulled host.

Glasgow knight – That was the most amazing tanking game ever.

zDRAGONSBLOODz– They would ride that host and wreck everyone they played and lose in the championship because of neutral host. But that was by far by one of the most dominating teams.

What was the best game you feel you’ve played this season?

Glasgow knight – That’s real hard. We haven’t played a lot of good games this season.

Glasgow knight – But that would have been different. It’s always been 10 game season. Oh, I do like how the pro league is set up now, less teams is good. There’s nothing pro about a 30 team pro league. There’s just not that much talent floating around to have 30 good teams.

How did Cheap Ass Gamer form?

ColHotShotX – Basically, about 2 years ago, I’ve been a RvB fan for a while and found my way to grifball.com. I put a post on the CAG forums and asked who was interested. The original team was myself, Draekon, syngamer, fullmetla720, and johnketch. We played our first season and over several seasons we started Cheap Ass Giraffes. About a year ago, I started working professionally fulltime and started grad school and I didn’t have time, so we disbanded the team. Prior to this season, Rocky’s sent me a message saying “CAG back imo” and I thought, hmm, ok, why not? I’d been playing with Rac, Penguin and Jenn and got everyone together to play for the season.

Penguinocalypse – I think I’ve read that word for word on Grifballpedia.

ColHotShotX – Yeah I maintain our page on there.

What brought you guys back to the league?

ColHotShotX – It was pretty much just that text message. A year ago I was wondering if I could juggle everything, but with Penguin, Jenn and Rac, I thought we had a competent team, people I could rely on when I wasn’t there. It hasn’t taken up a lot of time and that’s what we wanted.

Penguinocalypse – Rockys is to blame for the whole shenanigan.

Samurai Jenn – And I just wanted to play on a team. I like being a tank and killing things.

So what’s it like being back?

Penguinocalypse – The same as it always was. I wake up when people need me to play.

Samurai Jenn – I’m definitely confused, but I play when people tell me to play.

ColHotShotX – Penguin wakes up 1 hour before game time. He works the night shift. Someone poke Draekon with a stick, I think he’s dead. Draekon, you enjoying your time in the league?

Draekon – It’s the third worst decision ever. First was joining CAG, second was sticking around for this long. CAG wouldn’t exist if not for me.

ColHotShotX – I admit that. You’re a bad-ass tank and produce the least amount of drama on the team.

Rac The Kitty – He’s sometimes insubordinate.

ColHotShotX – Naw, he’s been pretty un-insubordinate most of the time.

Back in SML08, you guys were kind of famous. Have you found that notoriety has changed?

Penguiocalypse – I find generally that people in the grifball community don’t respect people anyways.

Samurai Jenn – We were famous? I always thought I was mediocre.

Penguinocalypse – You’re good tank, you kill things dead.

ColHotShotX – I know we had a bit of notoriety, I try to portray us as a team as a team you’re going to have fun with, not as an uber elite team. A lot of the drama on the forums is teams saying that each other are bad.

Rac The Kitty – I think any chance of us being an elite team went out the window during that Someday Night Grifball game when we bum-rushed the announcer, killed him, put him on the court and ran around in the box sentinel-beaming people. Best. Warm. Up. Ever.

ColHotShotX – I was looking through our stats and I was wondering why the announcer got a kill. But overall, even a year away, we still have a decent reputation and a lot of people like us. That’s what’s important – having fun. I’m not interested in following the drama.

Samurai Jenn – This is the only part of Halo that I am good at.

ColHotShotX – Jenn has the highest betrayal rate on the team.

Samurai Jenn – Draekon always gets in my way.

Draekon – I might take that as an insult if everyone on the team didn’t betray me the same amount.

How’s your first time in Ammy league?

ColHotShotX – Not that much different.

Penguinocalypse – People don’t show up as much.

Draekon – I think every season so far we’ve had someone forfeit in our division.

ColHotShotX – After week three it’s like ‘we can’t make playoffs so lets just forfeit’. I admit the skill of the teams in pro league is greater and it’s more competitive, but for being in ammy and for not playing for a year, we’re still having fun. It’s the same and it’s different, but we’re enjoying it.

Penguinocalypse – I would like to play in pro, but in ammy I get to show up the same time and play, and since I have to wake up to play, it’s important.

Samurai Jenn – And I don’t like having to play on neutral host.

Who do you want to play against most in the playoffs?

ColHotShotX – Um, I don’t follow a lot of teams. Super Happy Sunshine and Bleep Bloop were our biggest rivals, but now they’re one of us.

ColHotShotX – Other than a rematch with Red Ray, I’m not looking for anyone in the league.

Samurai Jenn – I don’t know any other team names.

How much has the league changed since the last time you guys were here and how?

Samurai Jenn – I played last season, so not that much. But over the last few years, it used to be a small happy family of teams and now it’s big and I don’t know who anyone is and I can’t joke because I don’t know them and some of them are douchebags so they won’t get the mother jokes I throw at them.

ColHotShotX – You could make so much money through her for Child’s Play using a swear jar.

Samurai Jenn – I can do that.

Rac The Kitty – I think in the very beginning, back when people didn’t know a whole lot, it seemed like it came down to who can coordinate the best, it was dependant on tanking. As the game evolved, it started turning into who can be at the forefront of the next big thing –flowers, the wall hop, the opening launch that everyone takes for granted now. The game got more competitive. You could go – 70 and still win. I guess I’m nostalgic mixed with disappointed. People started learning and getting things down, and now people know the same tricks, it’s turning into a host dependant game.

Samurai Jenn – Yeah, that too.

Draekon – I’ve noticed other teams haven’t taken our move called “the revolver”.

Rac The Kitty – I don’t even know what that is.

Draekon – Yes you do Rac.

ColHotShotX – Our introductory play that actually scored a goal for the other team? It’s where the ball runner runs back and the opposite team follows, but then a teammate betrays the runner and moves forward and the offense has to react instantly to fall back.

Penguinocalypse – I think you made that up for when you betray people you can blame the revolver.

ColHotShotX – There are no accidents on CAG – only highlights.

How did your team form?

XXHertyXX – IRickyyy and leg fetish and Jacob have been playing for a while. But 2 DXPs ago, they asked me to be on their team and that’s how Try Hard Pants was formed.

IRickyyy – Leg Fetish wanted to recruit Jacob as a tank and he said only as long as my friend can join and that’s how we met xXHertyXx.

Where did the name come from?

xXHertyXx – We came up with the name while we were playing together. It’s pretty common phrase “rookies putting on their try hard pants”. We thought it fit us pretty appropriately.

What has it been like being a first season team?

xXHertyXx – This is both IRickyyy and my first season playing. IRickyyy was in last season, but he was on the bench and never got to play. This is my first season overall, I just started 2 DXPs ago. It’s been a lot of fun to be honest. We got a nice division.

IRickyyy – I think it’s fair because all teams in our division – it’s all our first time in the league.

xXHertyXx- We get gripe about that from our friends in the community, they joke about us having an easy division.

IRickyyy – People say it’s our third season, but it’s really our first.

xXHertyXx – Yeah, I’d like to clear that up. Most people think that we’re experienced, but this is really our first season. IRickyyy and I, this is our first season. Jacob played less than 5 games last season and Leg Fetish has played.. like 8 league games.

What was it like being in a division of all new teams?

XxXHertyXx – A blessing in disguise? It was good and bad. We were able to get our footing and get used to how the Grifball league is run. But then it’s bad because, I mean, I don’t know. I like playing against people who are good because I think that’s the only way to get better. I think us not playing top teams in the regular season may hurt us in the playoffs, but we try to make up for it with custom games.

So what drew you to Grifball?

xXHertyXx – To be honest I love it. I think it’s ingenious. Yeah killing people with BRs is fun, but Grifball is a fun team game. I think one person can have an advantage, but superior tactics and teamwork can overcome someone who’s a beast.

IRickyyy – We met up in matchmaking and we all learned and flowed together pretty well so we made a Grifball team.

xXHertyXx – Yeah that’s true. We’ve all learned a lot, I know I’ve learned a ton in the past 2 months. Like those stupid moves you guys do… what are they called?

IRickyyy – Poop in the Pants and Hertz Mah Gertz.

xXHertyXx– We play around in customs to try and create new moves. Some of them work and some of them are failures. We have a play – having a tank in the corner and the runner runs at him, jumps on his head, and launches him to goal over people’s head. It works about half the time, the other half it betrays the runner. We definitely need to work on it.

What team would you want to play most in playoffs?

IRickyyy – Definitely Super Jerks.

xXHertyXx – I agree with IRickyyy before today, but I really want to play Grifball Ninjas now. But we practice a lot with different teams. Super Jerks is a great team, Hot Bikini Guys, Grammton Clerics, they’re all teams we’ve played and they haven’t made the top 10 this season, but they’re all great teams.

Are you worried about Neutral Host games?

xXHertyXx – We’ve played league games off host, and one of our cheerleaders on our team, we have him so he can pull over us, and his host is really clean.

IRickyyy – I’m not too worried.

xXHertyXx – I’d like more practice, it never hurts, but I’m not too worried.

IRickyyy – Doesn’t matter who hosts, because my internet is nuts.

xXHertyXx – No matter who pulls, IRickyyy’s connection is below 45. But one thing that’s helped us a lot is that we’ve made friends with people who have been in the league a while and they’ve given us a lot of help. Personally, OneHawk and Pacman have helped me out a lot.

What were your expectations coming into this season?

IRickyyy – Expectations… Probably, I was thinking before the season started, I was thinking we’d make top 10 no matter what division we were put in.

xXHertyXx – I’m not sure if I thought we’d be top 10. I didn’t know the skill level of other teams, but I think there’s a huge diversity of the league which helps. I think any of the top 15 teams could win the championship. Anyone who knows me knows I’m competitive and I like to win, but as long as I’m having a good time and we’re doing our best, I have no problem with that.

Do you any advice for new rookie teams?

xXHertyXx – Just have fun but if you don’t practice you’re not going to get better. Just playing league games doesn’t help as much. I think custom games are the best. Post in the forums that you’re looking for custom games and get some invites. That’s the best way to get experience.
