Hello there everyone. Now, I have some advice to all the PAX goers. I’ve been listening to enough video game podcasts and following their websites over there years, where I have picked up on some key things to do while you’re out on the PAX floor and things you can do to physically and mentally prepare for what is for sure going to be a weekend filled with fun times and great memories…if you follow these tips!
1.) WEAR COMFY SHOES. You’re going to CONSTANTLY be on your feet. Your best bet is a pair of comfy walking shoes if you have them.
2.) Sleep. This is another one of those REALLY important things. You’re going to be walking around and just being super busy in general for the 3 days you’re there. Remember to get an adequate amount of sleep, as this will be the main reason you’d get sick if you were there.
3.) Wash your hands. PAX can be an incredibly dirty place. Every year you hear of some kind of sickness breaking out there, because you have tens of thousands of people crammed in a convention center. So at LEAST wash your hands, but possibly bring some anti-bacterial disinfectant as well. You’ll be better off that way.
4.) Personal Hygiene. Bring enough personal hygiene things to keep yourself at a humane level. From what I hear, there are plenty of people there that won’t be, so be prepared for that too. You don’t want to be the (one of plenty) smelly people at PAX.
5.) Don’t bother bringing a back pack. All they will do is make the area you take up bigger, and thus, you’re getting in the way of others and others are getting in the way of you. You will be getting enough bags of swag from whatever booths you decide to go to. Less space taken up is better for everyone involved.
6.) Remember to eat well. A lot of people tend to just eat bad and load up on energy drinks, but you might regret that in the end. Just eat on somewhat of a normal schedule if you can and not just junk food and sugary drinks. Water would be nice.
If you follow these tips, as well as just using some common sense, you will have a GREAT trip! Just have fun, and feel free to tell us about your PAX experience either on the show floor, because our very own GreenTeamTex and Goosechecka will be there, or after you get back! Have fun at PAX!
