Hi, thanks for taking the time to read this. This is a special bidding edition of Bacon Bits. I’m gunna list off the top 10 players who will go for the most during bidding, let’s get started!
10. Infektion – 220cr
Pig: Infektion will find himself going back home to Impulse because PD is the captain and I’m pretty sure he prefers trading over bidding anyways…jk. Infektion’s seeming attitude towards lesser skilled cap’ns will keep him low and put him within reach of the higher skilled cap’ns. He’s going home to Gingy and Hybrid Theory probs.
NOPLEX: Infektion the “Post”. I used to refer to him as this back in SML14, as he just tends to stay where he wants. Until he’s damn well ready to move that is. Infektion won’t wow you with his points in game, but he’s one of the hardest tanks in the league to clear out on either side of the court. Most may not know this, but he’s also quite the encouraging player in game, and can uplift other players to help them play their best. He always does his best to “not die” and his k/d shows.
Anonymous: Is he only playing 12 games this season? I don’t think it will matter because how can you not win on a team with Determined and Silva? Infektion can kill things, but his skill stops there. This is probably about right for him in this bid pool though
9. Almighty Tycoon – 240cr
Pig: Almighty Tycoon, aka Boss, the guy who couldn’t escape corners, will go for 240 credits to ActiveHate, somehow. In all seriousness I see him going to either Gingy or….well I have no idea who else, but he doesn’t seem keen on playing for the lower CCV cap’ns. Either way don’t let Gingy get Infektion and Boss.
NOPLEX: Bosston lolol. Making a big return for the paid bid league structure, Boss seems to be fitting back into his old self. Smack talking, and unbelievable reload to boot. If he can keep his temper about him, and end up on the right team, Boss could be a very important piece to a successful team with his streaky tanking and par defense.
Anonymous: Boss probably gets stuck in the corner even in Halo 4. He’s got no tanking skill and being a dedicated runner in Halo 4 isn’t even a thing. Good luck Gingy.
8. Solace VII – 260cr
Pig: Solace, who started his AGLA career at 10 credits, will see himself jump to 260, probably going home to DCleak on Legitimate Strategy or Shadow on One Hit Wonders. Tune into the podcast to listen to him cry his way all the way up to 260 credits.
NOPLEX: Just go ahead and put him on your “do not punch” list. As shadow s16 says “Solace is just from another planet”, I could agree with that statement with his sword range. A quite well rounded player as Solace is competent in all aspects of the game, but still his defending stands out above all. His sword is “sick f*cking nasty.”
Anonymous: Solace for 260 isn’t beyond reason. If his sword is still as good as it used to be, I can see the value. Don’t choke a ‘ship this time.
7. MSSR Martin – 270cr
Pig: We all know MSSR Rain can’t leave his bff out in the cold, which is why Martin will again be going home to Vital Signs, but this time for only 270 credits because I think people finally figured out that he’s actually pretty bad.
NOPLEX: Starting his bid league career at 10 credits on Notorious in SML13, Martin has come a long way with some ups and downs. Notorious (ha) for playing extremely well during bidding to inflate his value, Martin has yet to live up to his value for the most part. A good, solid tank that can be hard to get off your plate, Martin would be a solid addition for tanking to any teams. We’ll just have to see if he can separate from Vital Signs and see if he can help someone else.
Anonymous: Martin and Rain are pretty adorable, but when it comes to Grifball they’ll never win a ‘ship together. Martin is just going to be higher than what he’s worth because the bid pool is so bad.
6. a man canon – 280cr
Pig: Man Can Can will be seeing a big jump in his price from the last time he was in bidding when he was a mere 50 credits….actually he might be the only player to have been more expensive as a cap’n, someone look at that up. Either way, he’ll be going home to the legend Four to Oh. Have fun Man Can! :3
NOPLEX: Taking his chances in the pool once again in SL15 after being a captain in FL14 should be interesting for my MN twin. One of the most notable “weak side” tanks in the game, Man Can can spawn kill with the best of them. He has good awareness in all aspects of the games and is one of the better defenders in the league. Pair that with his mad spin tanking skills, he’s basically unstoppable. All joking aside, Man Canon is another well rounded player that can plug in and help any team in all aspects of the game. #Kappa
Anonymous: More evidence that the bid pool is basically as shallow as it’s ever been. Canon being tide for fourth most expensive player in the league. Did he finally decide to stop crying about connection and just play the damn game?
T4. AJ DaJuiceMayne – 290cr
Pig: Here’s what AJ wanted me to write: “foopin terrible, only good against randoms, when crunch time comes he’s bad, barely breaks -30, >100 credit but imo”. Since I do what I want however, I’m going to give AJ the credit he doesn’t want but deserves. The guy has gotten better, a lot better, which is why he’s going for 290 credits, right up there with Rage. Also obvs he’s going home to Notorious.
NOPLEX: Starting out as a 10 credit prospect that rarely played in SML13 and FL13, AJ has slowly but surely worked hard to improve his game. Now breaking out of his cage for the SL15 season, AJ was sure to be a top 10 prospect. He’s gone from a bench player to a for sure starter, in the sense that his tanking is great now. He doesn’t seem to die ever, and he’s worked a ton to be one of the leagues most improved players
T4. Rage More Nerd – 290cr
Pig: Making his return from arguably his worst season ever, admin Rage More Nerd will go for a pretty 290 credits to AlphaTurtle and Retro, mostly so they can reschedule whenever they want because they’re both awful admins (:p).
NOPLEX: Rage More Noob is a self claimed “best defender in the league”, but then again he thinks he’s the best at everything haha. In all seriousness, most of the people that top this list are extremely good, and well rounded players. Originating on the “passive” (sry Rage) OHW squad that was very successful at the air assault, Rage is no stranger to passing offensively and getting those clutch kills. His love for Red Pandas may be a weakness, but his motivation in game prolly makes up for it.
Anonymous: Rage is terrible. I’m not trying to be mean but I’ve said this in an article before and I don’t get why people hype him up so much. Put him on a bad team, with no support, and he deflates like a Patriot’s ball. Look what happened on Bomb Squad last season. Sorry, overpriced by a lot.
3. Sabasauros Rex – 300
Pig: Former Uplifted cap’n and boyfriend of soon-to-be Hall of Famer Ming Crusader, Sab will be valued at a nice 300 credits, going home to probably Perfect Demise and Impulse. PD is actually underrated in his CCV in my opinion, and Impulse and Sab will be sitting pretty for a ‘ship run.
NOPLEX; Sab-bot “everyone else is trash”. That’s pretty true considering there aren’t many players that can hang with his level. Arguably the best defender at the top of this list, Sab is a adaptive tank that forces you to pay attention to him each time he spawns and comes down the court. His ridiculous sword lunges and competent running skill makes him a very hard player to find a weakness in. He isn’t really about that dying life.
Anonymous: Yo okay, Sab is a beast but come on now. I was told the bid pool was shallow but spending 3/5ths of your credits on one guy is not going to get you anywhere.
2. Ezy08 – 300
Pig: The great one, Ezy08, will be topping out at 300 credits. No idea where he’s going to land, but either way as always he’ll be a force to reckon with.
NOPLEX: Ezy Oh Great is the best “runner” in the bid league. Calling him a runner is a big stretch as he’s extremely competent in all aspects of the game as a hybrid. Ezy knows his ranges and routes better than anyone, and has the best, most consistent stiffarm in the league. Ezy takes ho hum plays and turns them into extraordinary by being a one man army of a runner at times. A very good tank off ball as well, that is hard to get off your spawn defensively as well. +1 to his in game speeches and chatter that usually keep a team laid back.
Anonymous: Uhhh, not sure why Ezy is so expensive. Yeah he’s good and all but either Pig is dumb (probable) or you’re all dumb. When are we going to learn that one player can’t carry a team to a ‘ship?
1. Ace B S1lentND1 – 320
Pig: Poor Ace man. No doubt the guy is the best in the bid pool every season, but this season a lot of the support players who he could normally team up with are going to be pushed past his cap’ns available cap due to the shallowness of the bid pool, which means he’s going to have to carry ever harder than usual. Melvin, how could you do that to Ace?
NOPLEX: As with every season, there will always be the #RaceforAce. At the birth of the bid league, everyone thought one player going for over 400 credits would kill a team, but in this case it did not. Ace is the best student of the game, and is just as good on the court as he is preparing for games off the court. A true talent scout, that knows and picks apart every player he wants to (when he cares). Ace is a menace on both sides of the ball, and is key to a lot of pass plays that go in for scores.
Anonymous: Ace man, I feel for you. Just get yourself to be a captain. I’ll do your bidding, get yourself below 200 credits and we’ll explode the league. Captains, stop expecting this man to do all of your work for you on the court.
That’s it for this edition of Bacon Bits. Thank you to Noplex and Anonymous for helping me out.
