Dash: Game to Watch – Grammaton Clerics vs. Hot Bikini Guyz
I’ve been behind the Clerics ever since they were in my division a long time ago in the Amateur league, and not to discredit them but I was surprised that they squeaked out a 5-4 win against Headbutt. I wasn’t too sure what to expect from Grammaton Clerics because I had thought they played more Grifball Evolved than anything. This may be a result of me not having seen the Clerics play much, but I also thought Bred4War and TJP11 along with RDG NHL, who on occasion can get hot tanking, would be more than Grammaton Clerics could handle.
Hot Bikini Guyz haven’t reported any games yet to my knowledge, so their status is a little unknown. However, I’ve played enough custom games to know that they are probably the most underrated Dash team in the Pro League. They can sprint for goals just fine, but when they decide to barrel roll for a goal or two…good luck on defense. This will be a good test for Hot Bikini Guyz, and possibly an indicator for Grammaton Clerics to see if they have what it takes to make the playoffs.
Outcome: It’s a difficult pick. I think it’s going to come down to which team has the better defense. I know that one of the Hot Bikini Guyz’s starters is MIA for a little bit, so I think this will be one of the games where they have to shake the rust off. Grammaton Clerics over Hot Bikini Guyz 6-3 (5-3).
Vanilla: Game to Watch – Cabs are Here vs. The Jetsons
Ok, seriously, we all know Cabs’s ability to win on Grifball Evolved but what about Dash and Vanilla? I don’t know if we can say at this point that Cabs is the same team they were on Evolved. They’ve got the same core four returning and they’ve added Nhaling2Xhale into the mix as well, but I haven’t seen enough to buy their Vanilla game just yet. They have to play Greenthumb, Halfbreed, and Fanciest Pants to even have a chance, and if they play their core three tanks, then they’re giving any team a huge problem on defense. The runner isn’t as important for this team, they just need someone to follow the tanks.
The Jetsons. T Rich has transitioned without a problem into Reach, being just as dominant as he was in Halo 3. The only problem for other teams? MajorSilva is more of a tank in Reach than he ever was in Halo 3. I thought going into the season T Rich would be the main tank but Silva has emerged to produce a very good duo for the Jetsons. Seriously, if Silva’s running, all I have to say is WTF… If the Jetsons want any chance they need to make sure D Hans and Rockys are the other two joining them on the court. They don’t necessarily have that third good all-around player they’re used to having, but I think D Hans and Rockys are their best 3rd and 4th players.
Outcome: This is even tougher to pick than the Dash game. Vanilla is a much slower paced game than Dash and I think that Cabs are at their best in a fast-paced setting. This one will probably decide the top Vanilla Team, and Cabs will have to sell their Vanilla game by winning. Until then, I’m not sold.
