Earlier today, AGLA Pro League Admin Menz announced that, due to new time constraints and responsibilities in his life, he will be stepping down as a league administrator for the American Grifball League of America effective at the conclusion of the SML11 season. With the AGLA most likely moving to a ladder system at the end of this season, the league is looking for one or two new admins to help run the league.
AGLA admins will be expected to help advertise and run sign-ups, answer questions during the season, settle disputes, determine playoff operations, and overall make sure that the league runs smoothly.
Are you a bad enough dude to run the AGLA?
In addition to the new admin positions, the AGLA also needs folks to help out with events, the rules, and advertising. Here are the complete description for all positions and instructions for applying:
This is not a job for the faint of heart. Do not apply if you cannot dedicate many hours of time to grifball, sometimes at very inconvenient times. Rules violations/punishment, player disputes, league and playoff set-up, player problem solving and whatever the hell else comes up that needs to be done. This position has direct power over the future of the league and is tasked with its continuation and growth. We are looking for one or two new administrators for this season, depending on quality of applications. Applying for this position does not guarantee you will have a spot in the election, you need a history of being trustworthy and an asset to the league.
Head of Events:
The HoE is in charged of making a bi-weekly Grifball event, usually in the form of a Grifball Rush. There will be one HoE to provide two “official” Grifball events a month. On the off weeks, HoEs are allowed to run a non-grifball event they think might be fun for Grifballers. The HoE will also work closely with TFC to create the all star game at the end of the regular season.
Ability to make threads a couple of weeks in advance for the event.
The ability to run the event, set up teams, and maintain contact with participants when event is schedule.
Must make a write up, that will be acceptable for front page news. HTML knowledge is a plus, but not required.
Head of Rules:
The Law maker of the AGLA. They are to be proactive in adjusting the current rules and creating new ones to deal with new situations. Can be contacted about rule infractions. The official rules writeup will be due for the end of the season, and will be written for the next season. They will still have the ability to alter the rules of the current season too.
Head of Rules will keep the rules up to date and have a finished copy at the end of the season.
Will have to give opinions on interpretation of rulings.
Make new rules for situations that have not yet been addressed.
Head of Advertising:
HoA will be in charge of spreading the disease of Grifball. Will find ways to get other sites to promote sign-ups and the league. They are here to ensure the league is being properly advertised. With a possible new ladder system, this would be a season-long job now, instead of just a few days.
Will tweet, facebook, email sites, etc. about the league, league news, and sign-ups.
Will promote the league in acceptable ways to expand the population of the league.
