Hey everyone! I said I would do these so here you go, and I’m only doing Halo 4 because I don’t know diddly about Halo 3, deal with it.
Sorry PD, but a 0-3 start speaks for itself. While missing their designated runner in DarkAssassin, Hyperdrive seems to have more chemistry issues than most teams, surprisingly. With PinnheadLarry and Perfect Demise spending a lot of time with each other online, you would think they would mesh well on the court, but nothing has clicked yet. Everyone seems to be on a different page in the game and the team play isn’t quite there. That’s not to say they can’t turn it around, because I think of all the lower ranked teams, this is the team with the biggest chance to succeed.
Kirsty is the bright spot on this team, her strong tanking and smart play are flying under the radar but don’t be fooled, she’s probably playing the best on the team. PinnheadLarry needs stop touching the ball and do what he does best, tank. PD also has this problem where he keeps touching things he shouldn’t, stick with the hammer. Perhaps DarkAssassin is the x-factor for this team, a tanking line of PD, PinnheadLarry and Kirsty sounds pretty nasty right now, only time will tell.
A win over a shorthanded Hyperdrive is all that keeps Affinity from the basement. I am worried for this team as their fate is in the hands of Tariq who has only just returned to the game and when he left, he wasn’t exactly taking the league by storm. The potential is there though, but he’s going to have to hit the turbo if this team is going to see success this season. Tariq has had a solid start, but he’s going to need some help, and I’m looking at MomentToLove to be the boost this team needs. Bring up the awareness concerns all you want, MTL can kill things and someone who can kill things in a good position is a recipe for success.
I don’t know too much about the rest of this team but just like everyone else, they will have their strengths, and they need to play at these strengths and take advantage of opportunities very effectively to move up in these rankings.
10. Bomb Squad
The 0-2 start is concerning, but not so much when you see who has beaten them, an undefeated Pro Run and Underrated team that had their two stars in the lineup. I’m expecting a lot out of the Lightsaber/Cow combination though, 4G1B lives on. Throw BigAl into the lineup, and this team isn’t going to be tanking in a lot of goals, but the passing game can be among the best in the league. There’s a lot of playmaking on this team and if these players can mesh together, they will surprise a lot of players.
This probably isn’t the start this team (especially Boss) was expecting. A 0-2 start for this team is nothing they can’t handle though. They have a lead tank in Boss and a solid runner in Puppies, and that’s all a team needs to be successful. Having seen them play from the NH box, I can see the team has got to play smarter, and more as a team. Similar to Vital Signs, this team has to set up their lead tank to be the difference maker. Being more cautious with the ball and more team pushes can turn this team around very fast.
This team is very capable of beating all the others, but they have to settle down, play smart, play together, and win games they’re supposed to win. They have a very manageable schedule for week 2 and they need some wins to get some momentum rolling. The game against Vital Signs will be a fun game to watch; if Boss can outplay Rain and push this team to victory, that could be the turning point.
Welp, I can’t tell you how not helpful having only 1 game to judge them is. They lost to First Strike is all I can really say. The roster is pretty balanced with a lot of high upside players led by Routine Ritual, arguably the top up and coming player in Halo 4. Since they didn’t play many games I don’t have much to say, moving on.
7. First Strike
This team is interesting. The only roster with 3 players worth 100+ credits, anyone is capable of stepping up and being the star for this team. I’m looking at Crobar to be that star but realistically, it could be anyone, not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing yet. They’ve had probably the toughest schedule to start the season having to play the top 3 captains and then Nets and DCleak. They’ve still managed to snag a couple wins against Aftershock and Impulse however so they avoided digging themselves in an early hole.
They only have 2 games next week but you can watch them face off against Affinity on WNG so learn from them while you can, because they have 7 games on week three and odds are they will be facing you, so watch them closely and pick out who you see being their star player.
6. Bad Intentions
This team had one of the biggest advantages to start the season, chemistry. TG Revenge pretty much brought together his Championship Ammy team and then added the up and coming tank about73puppies to help ease them into the spotlight. With so many returning players, I was expecting a strong start to get this team a head start in the standings, but 2 games isn’t very helpful with that. They have 5 games this week though, some very winnable, some very difficult.
Check back next week as we will have a much better idea where this team should be ranked.
Yes, a team with Nets and DCleak is not in my top 4, and it’s justified. Nets can only play so many games, and they’ve already lost one of those. This team can’t afford to lose a game with Nets in the lineup if they are going to make playoffs. Once Nets is out of the lineup, it’s a completely different team that was beaten 5-2 by Bad Intentions. The bright side is definitely Poptart, with a very strong start to the season and putting up some very unpoptartlike stats, this team has the 3rd that they need to separate them from the rest, but unfortunately he has to be the 2 for half the season.
It will be curious to see how this team plays out after they start playing some more games without Nets, DCleak will need to step up and work some of his magic. Keep an eye on them this week.
4. Vital Signs
This team looks pretty similar to past Vital Signs rosters which is actually going to work out this season, hopefully. Rain alone will likely carry this team to playoffs as he is the far and away top tank and at least half of this team’s goals will come directly off his tank ins. Will the rest of his team finally keep up with him this season? Probably not, but that’s not necessary, all they need to do is hold their own and take advantage that Rain is their captain.
There’s still a lot of work to do though, they’ve lost to 2 of the top teams in some not so close games so there’s still a gap they need to close in on. What this team really needs is a smart runner and some improved defense. These two factors alone can turn this into a top team pretty quick, but Rain is going to have to do some coaching as well as tanking for that to happen.
3. One Hit Wonders
I’m not biased at all when I do these rankings so settle down. The 1 loss is being disputes, Rage is the top player in the league, Noplex is a God, xSco is up and coming monster top 5 player, taz makes plays, NAV yells at me, and BrolyPoly. We’re pretty good tho so watch your backs kthx.
Eclipse takes the 2nd spot and has had a strong 3-0 start to the season, although they haven’t faced the top competition yet. 2 of their wins have been against the bottom teams in my rankings and they’ve yet to play anyone in my top 6. No one doubts the talent that Solace and Cutthroat have and they will likely go though teams pretty easily throughout the season, it’s the other half of the team I’m unsure about.
They’ve played around with some lineups so I’m not sure who the other 2 starters are going to be but they’re going to have to carry their weight for this team to get deep into playoffs. All it really takes however is for one player to turn into a stud and start making a name for themselves and this team will likely be the biggest threat to the top team, which is…
1. Pro Run
How can I put anyone but the 5-0 team at the top spot? Pro Run has been running (and jumping) over everyone in their path so far and in pretty convincing fashion. They’re a team full of smart players with great defense and playmaking. It’s a good thing Kev hasn’t even made an appearance yet because he is one of the better players in this season’s player pool.
This team still has some holes however; this team is very dependent on Metta to maintain the tanking line and if he’s not there, or having a bad game, it can go bad for this team very quickly. Half of Killerz’ goals have come from jumping over tanking lines but it’s also led to a lot of turnovers, once teams start cracking down on this, the team may become more dependent on tank ins or passing which is where everyone else can catch up. Watch your backs.
