Writeups by Reyas and MsMeowlla
Hey there! You probably saw the Ammy Power Rankings yesterday, if not check that out here. Today it’s time for the Legacy Rankings. Just like before, voting was open to all members of the community and I used everybody’s responses to get the aggregate ranking below. Assisting me with the writeups for legacy we have Underrated’s former :eyes: co-captain Reyas, and tank for Zero Gravity/Impulse, MsMeowlla.
1) Underrated (Avg: 1.95)
Once upon a time in the beginning of the AGLA FL17 Season, a duo was formed destined for greatness built upon their years of comradery. Those men? PoisonxPoptart and Reyas. Poptart has trained night and day to master the Way of the Blade and is regarded as the ‘Baby Galv’. His mastery on both sides of the ball, mechanical skill, and knowledge of this game we love is all S-tier. Not much more to say. There is much to say about Reyas, but his stats speak for themselves. He’s the Champion of the Fantasy league, and a chart-topper for Legacy stats. However, there is an enemy of Reyas lurking closely in the shadows, the enemy is himself and thus he has RIP’d the remainder of this AGLA season. He will have to spend playoffs helplessly watching his team from the shadow realm, BUT THERE IS HOPE. For the rest of their lineup consists of tank extraordinaire Solace VIII, KSI Gambt 7, Eternally, and Inactive Spoon.
Solace is a man hardened from many seasons of experience in both the Pro/Ammy level, he is the spine of this team for his tanking power tops all those among Legacy. KSI Gambit 7. He hails from a planet beyond the Andromeda Galaxy, an Android who molds to team’s needs as a support to Solace. This pairing with Solace is an unbeatable force, nearly impenetrable. However his most deadly skill is to run weak side to harass your spawn allowing his team to get in position. With Reyas out, in goes their final pick, Eternally. He’s only played half the season, but he is regarded as their ‘Big tank boy.’ Many are unaware of the deadly experience he wields with the hammer and have underestimated the force that he is. Soon Legacy will find out, so until then, don’t underestimate him. Final pick: Inactive Spoon. Though he has dropped to the depths of Ammy, he has proved to be the all around GOD of this squad. More swift that Taylor Swift, this man carries his teammates on his broad shoulders. In the short time Underrated has till playoffs, maybe it will be enough for them to regroup and adjust to the loss of their runner Reyas. I hear Spoon might be running? And we all know Spoon>Reyas. (;
In conclusion, with Reyas out and Eternally being the next man up Underrated is the same dominating force in contention for the Championship. It’s a matter of whether or not Eternally can fully adapt to the role Poptart will give him. The framer-boi might just win back-to-back titles. That is all.
2) Dynasty (Avg: 2.38)
It seemed as though every duo in Legacy were bidding their way to victory in the talent pool while Dynasty had failed to make a claim. Time was running out, teams were forming and it appeared as though Killerz Legit and AJ DaJuiceMayne had backed themselves in a tight corner. However much to the surprise of others they picked a team as the clock ran down consisting of: oUniqueRose, AtoneMilitant, Melvikins and their draft Sobriety XD. After the bid wars were over, many (whom shall remain nameless) pegged Dynasty as a 3rd-5th seed team. Personally, I myself was unsure of this team, not knowing Killerz or AJ too well. Perhaps egos were inflated or maybe people underestimated the ability of Killerz and AJ to orchestrate a monster of a team, but we all know by now how badass this team is.
Killerz himself. Captain of the team and shot caller. He’s been running laps in Pro for many years (still running this year with S&T) and has plenty of championship experience under his belt to back up his reputation of being an aggressive, route-running, play maker. People have said that he has a temper, but according to the man himself he is newly reformed. Next man up is AJ. Alright we constantly hear around the league of his being the best 1v1 defender, but he proves it time and time again. He is the flash of the team, the main tank with a passively aggressive playstyle. His years of experience in this league and new monitor (courtesy Silva and Pig<3) has brought a new AJ; Monitor AJ. And we have the leading lady herself: Rose. Now not much is known about this quiet lady other than her relationship status with InfiniteRain and her being allegedly carried last season by Vital Signs to win a Championship. But such is not the case. Rose is a bonafide support player. She’s running along AJ to slay, pushing to your spawn or weak side, and even coming in clutch to retain possession of ball. She fits the role of a 3rd for this team perfectly, and in my opinion shuts down all further trash talk. GJ chica :)
Atone is their 4th player and has God-awful connection but what he lacks in connection he makes up with his ability to distract opponents and cause havoc on your plate. He’s a Reach native and has been described as having a Reach playstyle. Whatever the case may be, he outsmarts his opponents. Melvikins, good friend of Atone’s also hails from Reach, playing runner. When he transitioned to H5 he found it a bit hard to wield the hammer, so naturally he picked up bomb and the rest is history. He impressed many with his with his sharp sword skills, allowing him to stab-n-grab and drop bombs on your plate, which he showed during the IGL season. However due to unfortunate circumstances he is benched for the remainder of the season, somewhere on Cloud 9 I hear. Last but not least is their draft pick Sobriety. He has no playing time in Legacy but of course that’s expected when you have this lineup. In Ammy he is a top teammate all around and looks forward to playoffs and winning a Championship. All in all I predict this team to win the Championship despite voting. Three players with Pro experience and a Reach Spartan fitting the important role of a 4th, killer offence and defence to match, what more could you possibly ask for? That is all.
3) Offset (Avg: 2.76)
Chemistry. Chemistry. Chemistry. Offset is the definition of this word in Legacy. inMotion Venom and JINXxPRODIGY are the duo for this team, and they put a plan in motion to obtain all 4 players from the Four Nations to create an OHWesque super team. Those men (and lady) include: MuNgo PuNgO, SKiYTTLES, Hide yo o kiddz, and Fs MsWolv3rine. Offset has most certainly demonstrated their contention for the top spot thus far. Let’s take a look at their roster.
Chief Venom up first. Awareness and positioning might be his most valuable traits, along with his salient sword. With his lengthy experience in grifball he is naturally the shot caller. Perhaps playing with these teammates puts him at his happiest, whatever the case may be he has displayed only top-notch showmanship in H5. JINX is the new kid on the block. At the beginning of the season he was built up to be the next Pro debut and since then many have questioned these claims. Nonetheless, he is mechanically gifted, wielding a top sword in this league. When I first encountered him I saw potential but I didn’t think it’d be this much! However he does lack experience which is vital in a competitive league like this but if he keeps participating he will definitely improve. Whatever the case may be, he is invaluable to this team. Mungo is a laid back dude who just wants to play the game and have a good time. Yeah people know his tendencies but many don’t give this man the credit he deserves. He continues to grind in customs and improve himself for his team and it shows. Sometimes he falls asleep on the mic but I hear he’s a great teammate in CoD.
Skiyttles is the chef of the team with the sauce that will lay you out thinking you’re at a five star restaurant. His culinary skill may be superior to his mechanical ability, however his knowledge and clutch ability to save his team may be right on par. Call him the Nets of the team if you will, but with a better sword (: Hidez’ internet is the most atrocious thing next to Reyas’s. But when he isn’t teleporting on screen he’s the same old Hide, racking up multikills and wreaking havoc, trying to be the tank this team needs to finish strong. People doubted this pickup saying he wouldn’t be a good fit, how silly. He’s the main tank of this pass-play style team and though his passes aren’t the best, he makes up with INSANE slays which opens the doors for pass goals. GJ my dude. Unfortunately, Wolverine was cut to Ammy. However her camaraderie and spirit lives on in this team. While she’s not playing an active role in Legacy, she has murdered in Ammy. She deserved a spot in Legacy but perhaps if she signs up next AGLA she could be picked up by a certain Pig<3/Meow? :)
Offset is a team full of chemistry and ability to play the ball in a way which has opponents chasing down kills, trying to figure out their next move. Venom and Jinx’s sword is probably the most vicious aspect of this team, along of course with their offensive play. Be that as it may, their defence can be lacking and has resulted in goals being scored upon, often times because of poor pass backs/interceptions. I believe for this team to win the Championship they should watch a game of OHW’s and take a few tips and tricks. A solidified defence and improved passing may just be what this team needs to win it all. Regardless of the outcome, this is a squad who wants to win games and have fun. That is all.
4) Zero Gravity (Avg: 3.86)
Zero Gravity retains the same key trio that obtained them a playoff spot in the last AGLA season with captan l CoPilot l (Formally MvRetrograder) and returning players l Godly Otaku l & MsMeowlla. At this point of the roster the team really dropped off in ability last season, the same can not be said this season however. KDSkill was a bit of a steal at only 80 credits as she has proved to be a very strong hybrid for the team, excelling in the tank area. Nikodemons recently joined the team in a trade for Myst The Cold, with Verity (the 4th member of last season) returning to the team as the draft pick to round up the squad.
The trade was certainly an interesting one, it’s a good attempt from two struggling teams to try and make a change however I feel for both teams it’s too little too late. As of writing, Zero Gravity have won three games, all three coming against last place Glass Hammers. However all their losses do come against the top three teams so there is still promise for their playoff chances. It all relies on an important three game matchup against Below Average.
This team has a unique playstyle which I feel they beat into the ground to the point of becoming overly-predictable and it puts pressure on their own players to the point of conceding. Their over-reliance on throwing the ball backwards to retain possession can often lead them to struggling to break out and get forward when they’re constantly being put on the back foot and retreating. When Meow & KD are able to get a good tanking push they are a very hard team to stop, Godly’s swording ability also provides great defensive stability.
I personally feel it will be extremely close between this team and Below Average for the final playoff spot.
5) Below Average (Avg: 4.48)
There isn’t really much to say about Below Average, only four games played so far, three of which came against Underrated. Captain Vigilante & Co-Captain BCN19 picked up the most predictable team in all three leagues with three ten credit picukps ups in xo Euphoria xo, SKR Dragon & Recidivious. The legend Perfect Demise is the draft pick of the team. Overall the availability of the team was never a good point from day one so the question of if they can play the remaining eleven games in three days will be a huge factor on if this team could change the shape of Legacy or if they will go down as one of the worst team showings in AGLA history.
I would imagine the main lineup would be BCN, Euphoria, Dragon & Recidivious however this team has only been able to play together once and it was in a 5-1 defeat to Dynasty. SKR Dragon hasn’t been able to live up to the numbers he put up last season and I can only assume the lack of slide is what’s doing the damage to him, and Euphoria’s struggle to live up to the expectations on her also seems to be affecting the team.
Pre-season the team looked good on paper, and had a good outing in the Pro vs. Ammy Rush. Four weeks into this season and it’s looking quite the opposite. All they need to do is beat Zero Gravity and obtain one win elsewhere and playoffs is obtained. The team is certainly still capable of going into playoffs with a strong record but as I said, the main difficulty for this team will be playing the games.
6) Glass Hammers (Avg: 5.57)
Whilst this team can still make playoffs, their chances are extremely slim. Currently sitting bottom of the league with zero wins in ten games you can pretty much write them off. The acquisition of Myst The Cold was an extremely good deal for the team after Nikodemons had previously fallen out with the captains Smokey & ThumpingHawk, however Smokey appears to have left league Grifball. Sherbetshake is an extremely good tank and is making his AGLA debut season (to my knowledge?) and can absolutely be proud of his performances for the team despite the record. PlaywitPlaty has also shown to be a good runner and m3TTa World War finalizes the roster despite his inactivity.
They definitely have a strong team but it just hasn’t clicked for them this season sadly. A major shout out goes to the team for actually sticking it out through every loss and returning, I know many who would have quit by now. These are the kind of players we want to keep in the community. The team didn’t get a flat 6.0, so clearly somebody has promise for them to win a game. Hopefully they’ll not let that person down with some wins in their three game series so they at least don’t come dead last.
